These apartments are a bit older, so that brings problems in and of itself. The carpet and kitchen linoleum needed to be replaced, but wasn't. Their idea of painting was spot painting over patched holes in the wall. This is before cleaning the walls, so there are huge dust globs in the paint. The maintenance guy has changed three times since I moved in (May '04). My 2 biggest complaints are the visitor parking and the manager. Visitor parking is unlit; at night you cannot see the signs, so you can't see if you're parking in the correct spot. Your car will get towed in no time flat if you accidentally park in the wrong spot. The age of the buildings also makes them less than energy efficient. My electric bills were ridiculous for a one bedroom, and I wasn't home very much to run the bill up. The plumbing had to be fixed more than once b/c the first "fix" was slapping silicone on a HOLE in the bathroom SINK!! The sliding balcony door was not sealed properly, and the main door had old broken weatherstripping that I replaced myself b/c I did not want maintenance in my apt. The manager is VERY nosey,defensive, VULGAR and gossips about other tenants. I put my rent in the night deposit so I don't have to listen to Betty and her drama. Renters cannot have visitors at the pool, which is ridiculous, yet Betty's whole flippin' family can come use it. I hate this place, but cannot afford to leave.
*UPDATE* I moved out in May '07 and could not be happier to be out. Betty was a raving lunatic and she needs to be dumped in the middle of the ocean. I would come home and things were moved, just enough for me to notice. I don't know if she poked around or the maintenance guy, but either way, the place should be shut down. It's falling apart. If Betty is at Brownstone, who is running HELL'!'!'!'!

I wish I could laugh at this post - it's rather humorous in the way it's written, but the unfortunate thing is it's TRUE!!
