I lived in Cason about a year. I've had ups and downs. When I came to view the apartment they showed me a semi dirty show apt. They said they could not show me the one I'd move into yet due to a tenant still living inside. Everything seemed ok. On move in day when I came to sign the lease and the apt was ready for viewing it was disgusting. I had actually packed up all my clothing and couldn't find clean socks to wear that day so I purchased new ones at walmart and was wearing them. Well I took off my shoes before going into the apartment - 10 minutes walking around inspecting the place and my new socks are black!! They had not cleaned the carpet, there was dead bugs and dust on the windowsills, food smeared on the cupboards,the tubs and stove were filthy. So here I am with two days to get out of my old apt, and Cason's looks like hell and I don't have time to find another place. One of the office ladies came in and cleaned up some of the nastiness because the maintence men refused to come over and do it (you could hear them on the walky talkies complaining)

They would not scrub the carpet. So we waste half the day burning a uhaul rental to scrub the damn thing because it was so ungodly dirty, before we could unload anything. And no they did not reimburse me. Let me just say rugdoctors cords don't reach far enough so you have to balance the machine on the stair steps against your leg burning your flesh off so you can clean the damn stairs. It was something else. When we vacuumed the carpet with the dyson, there was 12 canisters full of dirt and debris, that was pretty scary.

Some of the maintence people were ok, some are just scary. Dog poop is everywhere. Fertilizer for the bushes will regularily be sprayed under your door due to carelessness. Spiders are abound. We found a black widow constructing a nest on our front porch.

Scarier than the black widow was apparently the nite the swat team kicked the door down on one of the residents with loud stun/smoke gernades and scared everyone to death. Apparently they didn't screen the residents real well and the cops said the guy they arrested was from blood or crips and had committed murder. Always nice to see them hauling out guns from the apartment..

If you are on the old pre-harbor group taking over lease, they will not honor the 10% or whatever to break it, they will just keep telling you it's cheaper to stay than break it. And when I say break it I mean you've stayed over your year or whatever and just need to put in the 60 days notice - expect to be charged around $3,000 for those 60 days. If you choose to stay here, it's ok, no real crime, some people see it as a higher class apartment due to the light fixtures and such inside -I guess it's high class for murfreesboro but not for elsewhere. Do yourself a favor and just rent a 3 bedroom house for the same or save up for one.
