I would like to start off by saying that our apartment had many problems including mold, a toilet that was broken the entire time we lived there (due to maintenance forgetting a ring of some sort), and ghetto. We chose to live in the most expensive area of Chelsea Place. We thought, "Oh, we can afford the nice ones!" right by the pool, too! Well, I had an underage child (16yr old boy..alone) living beside me at first, who threw garbage all over my doorstep b/c I asked him to move it. That was police call number one. Then, there was the two times my locked car was broken into, pryed open with a crow bar to be exact, right outside my upstairs apartment. Those would be police calls two and three. Then there are the other two times I had to call the police. These are the most disturbing. One Saturday afternoon, my husband and I, left to go shopping. We locked the door as usual. I remember the maintenance man was outside at the building beside ours, getting something out of his vehicle. When we returned, our apartment was locked, just as we had left it, but the laundry that we had just left on the dining table, had been sorted through, unfolded, and all of my clean UNDERWEAR was GONE. So, I called the office to see if there had been anyone if the apartment. No one else has a key. They said no, and the only way a staff member gets a key is to have a work order. Well, then I remember the day I moved in. The same maintenance man that was outside that day, was in the office when I moved in. The manager asked him to make me an extra key for my husband (she only gave me one at first). He made two. I told him that I did not need three keys, so he took one back. I believe he could have kept it. Another incident occurred when we were doing laundry at the disgusing laundry facilities at Chelsea Place. We left after putting our clothes in the dryer, the same maintenance man was in the bathroom putting in a bulb, but the office staff had already made me feel like an idiot, and I was (and I'm sure still am) a regular joke around the office. They said "What do you think one of US stole your panties...hee hee". Stupid b***ches. Shows how much you know about crime and sexual predators. Real funny.... That night when we were doing laundry someone took my new panties out of the dryer. So again I had to call the cops. They assigned an investigator. He said unless he confesses they can't do anything b/c I have no proof. Chelsea Place Staff continues to laugh at me and be rude to me, until I finally threatened a lawsuit and got out of there before my lease was up. THEY WOULDN'T EVEN CHANGE MY LOCKS! F*** Chelsea Place. To me, they support crime, rape, and are the fanciest slum lords in town. To laugh at such a thing is disgusting. To allow their staff to get away with it, and to defend them without thinking is disgusting. To run such a hell hole, should be illegal and their entire staff should be in jail. You would be putting yourself in danger, and your health (mold and cockroaches anyone') including your family if you lived here. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. I had a hellish experience here. Seriously....DO NOT MOVE HERE. They've "renovated" now... that means they painted over all the crap. SAVE YOURSELF!!!! Oh, and the pond looks nice on some days...but it turns into a MUDHOLE with a fountain...poor poor ducks (which get splattered on the road). I feel sorry for the kids who live here.

My wife told me on numerous occasions that this maintenance man had made her feel very uncomfortable- apparently he entered our unit and saw my wife naked, and said something along the lines of "whoa ho."

Thank you for your honesty and warnings. I live out of state and was seriously contemplating living at Chelsea Place. I'm so glad to know now instead of later that it is not what it appears. Thanks again!!

Thanks for your review, my boyfriend and I are looking for a place to stay and was seroiusly considering liveing here too but now will definently look elsewhere! We want somewhere friendly and safe.

Me and my husband lived there about a year ago. The day we moved in we were told upon signing the lease that the maintence guys only come in after either putting a notice on their door (with date and time)or arranging a time when you call about a problem. First day in and we were tired and sweaty from moving all day, so we decided to jump in the shower. We get out and are pretty much airing outselves dry as our towels are still packed up, and who do we find in our hallway? The maintenance man!
