Dont live here

College Grove Apartments is cheap for a reason.

The maintenance guys come five days after you call them for major things like a broken washer. My washer broke about four or five times within a year of living there. They would fix it and it would break the next day and then they wouldnt come for another five days. The maintenance guys leave trash in the hallway for days. The water heater leaked water all over the floor every couple weeks or so. When they wanted to fix up the apartment to make it look nice when the new girls were moving in, they just spray painted over the wall where the leak stains were.

The people who work in the front office are college kids with attitudes. Everyone good who worked there went to the new apartment (Raiders Ridge I think) down the street to work when it opened. Leslie and Robert, two of the managers, stayed because they were the worst ones running the place. I have never seen Robert smile and he is rude when you ask him questions. I heard Leslie talks trash about the residents at parties. If you are related to people in the office or are friends with them you can get away with anything but otherwise you are screwed.

I lived there for a year with roomates who did not match the roomate request sheet (they were all 18 and partied a lot when I asked for older girls who didnt party) and was reassured the next year that I would get roomates to my liking since the office knew my preferences now. They stuck me with three 18 year olds who got arrested the first night they moved in for being loud and underage drinking. When I wanted to move out, they wouldnt let me. I told them they kept putting me with 18 year olds who party when I have work at 6 am. They said the roomate request sheet was a request only.

The walls are paper thin. You can hear the TV in the living room from your bedroom. You can hear people walking upstairs. People party a lot and the maintenace guys dont have time to pick up everyones beer bottles in the parking lot and front lawn.

Gnats in the apartment are really bad. If you leave a bag of trash sitting in the kitchen for a day they appear. If you have dirty roomates who leave four bags of trash in the kitchen for two weeks you have 80 gnats.

If you like to party and dont have a lot of classes, this is a good place. If you dont care who you live with, this is a good place. If you arent a super clean person, this is a good place. If you are in your 20s, have a lot of classes, have a job, get up early and like a clean friendly environment this is not the place.

Some people break into empty rooms and let their friends illegally live in them. Or they use the extra room as a gym or something. Then when people come to rent it out, they scare them off so they can keep the extra room for free. One apartment, in the 100 building, actually had the residents put crap on the walls to scare people away. The office knew they did that and wouldnt kick them out because it was cheaper to keep them there in the middle of the year then kick them out and lose money.

Parking sucks. Half of the lights are blown out in the parking lot and if you park far from your building you gotta run really fast to your apartment because its scary. You cant ever park in front of your building because its so overcrowded. Visitor parking is ample though.
