Time for another name change!

When I lived there, this was the second cheapest apartment complex in town. It was just starting to get ghetto. I hear its Ghetto Grove now.
Major problems - Office staff, safety, parties, internet
Office staff - Absolutely did not care. When one of my roomates worked in the office, things were fixed instantly. If the microwave even thought about breaking, we had a brand new microwave the next day. When she wasnt there anymore, nothing got fixed. You go to pay your rent at 10 a.m. The sign on the door says theyre open and no one is there. You go back the next day, no one is there. College kids work for their rent so they didnt care. When I wanted to get out of my lease, the office worker told me I could for a 100 bucks under the table. He also was the prime organizer for the parties.
Parties - When you work and go to school full-time it SUCKS. The walls are paper thin anyway but adding parties to it makes it worse. Things get thrown off the balcony. Puke in the hallway. My neighbors punched a hole in their door and left it in the hallway. Maintenance didnt move the door for a week or two.
Roomates - Wackadoos galore! They dont listen to that roomate preference sheet at all. I asked for people who were Juniors/Seniors/quiet and they gave me 18 yr old cheerleaders who threw a party and got arrested the first night they moved in. I came home from work, the first day remember, to all my vodka being gone and a citation on the fridge for resisting arrest. They were my second round of roomates. The first round were 21 year olds who actually got into screaming matches over the thermostat and tried to get me to take sides. Wear a sweater, open the window or grow up! Try complaining to the office - you have to have a fist fight basically to move into another apartment. They just tell you to get along.
Internets always down. I spent more time at the computer lab doing papers than at home.
Safety - I witnessed a boy get beat up by three or four others in the middle of the day. In my building, a guy shot at another guy during a poker game. The supposed cop who lived in the building' Yeah, nowhere in sight. I called the cops and they showed up forty-five minutes later. Apparently, no one was injured but I watched the getaway car. I heard they were evicted but amazingly the office didnt put a note on any of our doors to explain the incident - I found out by asking the office myself what happened. Also, when I looked up sex offenders on a national web site, one lived in the 100 building which was one building over from me. My friend lived next door and she got robbed. She went home over break and her roomates broke into her room and stole her DVD player. The office wouldnt do anything about it because she couldnt prove it. No one but her had things stolen and no one had broken into the apartment but the office said she couldnt prove it. It's very dimly lit at night and the parking is horrible so you gotta park away from where you live. A car also burst into flames one night - someone had set it on fire. Not sure why the car thing happened. The pool at night was filled with scary people and sometimes random fights. People from around the area drove their kids to the pool and dropped them off. Once a couple got into a Jerry-Spring escapade at the pool and the cops were called. Apparently, he was addicted to coke and she had been hit by him one night. At some point she started crying and the people at the pool didnt know what to do. It was awkward to say the least!
Shoddy accomodations - I watched them paint over water leaks before my new roomates moved in (I stayed over the summer which is rare so I got to see them "clean" up the place for the new roomates moving in). The furniture was all beat up and stains were all over the carpet. They charged my friend next door for her furniture even though when she moved out they never replaced it (we stayed friends with the people who moved in after her). I got lucky and they didnt charge me for anything but its because I had the once nice office worker who didnt try to screw me. Also, I wrote on the checklist when I moved in that everything was beat up and used.
