I am a student at Mtsu... I just transferred here from a community college in East TN.... I knew no one in Murfreesboro when I moved here.... I looked at a few places but no one seemed to be quite as friendly as the office staff at College Grove apartments and certainly no model apartment was as nice as the one there!!! I was so excited about moving and quickly signed my lease here!!!

On the day of move in I was quickly devestated....My apartment was aweful!!! I got to the door and it was sitting crocked on the hindges... I walked in and there were even more problems... I quickly noticed the bugs everywhere, the holes in the sheet rock, the old disgusting mattress, the cracks in the ceiling and places where chunks were missing... the mold in the cabinets, the glass all over the floor from broken lights, the discolored cabinets and the garbage disposal that was shooting food out that has been there who knows long...

Needless to say, I was angry...My dad, even more angry! We immediately went to the office to demand an explaination... the maintenance guys told us the door had been kicked in a couple weeks earlier, apologized and offered us another room. After turning 3 rooms down we finally settled for a room.

My first weekend there, a huge party was thrown... which has proven to be an ongoing theme...Maintenance men have been in my apartment every week to fix something and have shown up anywhere from 9am, when I woke up and found them having breakfast in my kitchen to 3am when they finally showed up to fix a clogged toilet!!!

I have no air conditioning in my room... my roommates stay cool but not me. Maintenance has been there 3 times to fix it and nothing has changed.... They told me the problem was that I had it on 65 and I couldn't turn it down that low....bulll....

I live in a four by four floorplan, and each of my roommates and I pay different rent...our rent ranges a wooping 60 dollars!!

By the end of the first month both my roommates and my own car got broken in to. The office staff was not sympathetic or even helpful. I filed an accident report but no further action was taken. We do have a cop car that sits in front of the office, but I've never seen it moved!!!

The students that run the office are totally and completely rude. I've come to the conclusion that they kiss your butt to get you to move in and then they treat you like you are stupid.... They talk to you like you have no common sense and I had to call and make an appointment with the manager, who is an adult, to get anything taken care of....

Although the location in relation to campus is great, it's just not worth the headache... I would definately NOT reccommend college grove apartments. Don't waste your time or your money!!!

I had similar problems when I lived at College Grove. The air was broke the first day I move in. The impotent maintance staff fixed for a while. It continued to go off on the coldest and hottest days of the year. My roommates and our parents complain to the office manager about our problems. I finally I had to call the corporate office on two separate events. I recommend calling CORPORATE. The door lock would stop working. The other tenants were just nasty. There was vomit and broken glass always on the steps. Someone was always super loud. Not a good place to study.
