Not bad, but staff/management could be better

Years at this apartment: 2000 - 2002
Overall I rather liked King's Crossing--that is, until new management took over in 2001. I liked the management and staff when I first signed the lease in Spring of 2000--they were friendly, helpful, easy-going, and a pleasure to deal with. They were also reasonable regarding rules and apartment inspections.
The newer management was generally unfriendly and stand-offish, not very helpful, *very* much not easy-going at all, and often difficult to deal with. They were also a bit unreasonable about rules and apartment inspections, not only expecting apartments to be kept undamaged, unaltered, and without dangerous or questionable situations (which are all reasonable things), but they also expected apartments to be spotless, and would actually order people to *vaccuum* or face eviction (even if the apartment wasn't in much disarray to begin with). I understand apartment management wanting to be sure the property is being taken care of and not damaged, but that's a bit excessive.
They were also often patronizing to tenents. I recall one newsletter they sent out a few months after taking over--it stressed the speed limit in the parking lot as, and I quote: "ten, Ten, TEN MILES AN HOUR!"; the irony was that the *posted* speed limit (visible on a sign directly in front of the office) was *15*, not 10, and it was never changed or altered in any way for the remaining year and a half I lived there, though the management continued to enforce *10*, even to residents (and visitors) who were merely trying to follow the posted speed limit.
The management aside, I liked living at King's Crossing--it has a safe, family and community kind of feel to it, and the apartments themselves are reasonably nice inside, especially for lower-rent apartments. The few maintainance issues I needed taken care of were dealt with promptly and well, and the apartment was generally nice to come home to. I don't know if the same management is still in charge, but were it not for them, I could easily recommend King's Crossing to anyone looking for apartments in Murfreesboro.
