Security is a major issue with this place!

We moved our daughter into this building last year and were excited about the security we thought this place had. On move-in day we were told the gates were open because it made it easier on the residents and that they would be closed at the end of the weekend and then would stay closed until our daughter used her gate pass. We came to find out that the gates were only a joke. After visiting many weekends the gates were only closed once in all the times we were there. When we asked about this issue we were told that someone would usually run into them because they were drunk. I know from being there some on the weekends that this is definately "party central" for the college students. Trash was always laying around. People would throw trash in front of the doors and in the stairwells and unless an innocent tennant picked it up nobody else would. During the year someone tried to get into an apartment where some girls lived and when they called the office for security it took them over 20 minutes to get there from the office. When we looked the place over we were told about the security living on site and obviously that was a joke given the time frame it took those poor girls to get help. Someone was also held up at gunpoint. The only time I saw anyone trying to secure the parking lot was when they would go around putting those yellow boots on cars because they didn't have enough parking. Parking was a major issue and during the year they removed at least half of the visitor parking spaces without notice. One of our daughter's friends parked in a space she had always used when visiting and when she came back one night had one of those yellow boots on her car. In the dark of night the space still looked like it was marked "visitor" but she was made to pay a fine to remove the boot. Even the fellow who came to remove it admitted the space looked like it was marked "visitor" but he stated there was nothing he could do. I know he admitted it because I talked to him on the phone when he came to remove the boot. As a parent it became impossible to visit because we couldn't find a place to park. The apartment was overpriced due to the fact that the security gates didn't work at least 95% of the time. To me that makes the more than $1000 per month rent that was paid on this apartment overpriced. When we moved in we were also told to make a list of things wrong with the apartment and they would work on getting things fixed. Well you guessed it. Nothing was ever fixed. I wouldn't put my dog in this unsafe, overpriced place. Can't believe I put my daughter here. My advice would be to not only look elsewhere but to run.

Mommy are you still wiping their butt? I live at Raiders and have for the past 2 years and love it. The gate was hit like 4 times but it was always repaired quickly. Over priced, whatever. I live in a 4 bed room and pay $389 per month, which includes everything: eletric, water, cable, internet, phone.
