I had signed my lease in APRIL with my boyfriend and two other people and verified that we were only signing the lease if we would all live TOGETHER... the guy, Rodney, who took us on the tour said there was a vacant 4 BR 2 BA unfurnished completely vacant apartment that would be available to us, therefore we signed the lease and specified who our roommates would be. Come to find out, less than a month before having to move in, Rodney didn't fill out the transfer form for my boyfriend so they place me and the other two people with a random roommate which we did NOT want!! Frustrated, my boyfriend, me, and roommates call arguing the situation and for them to fix it. Instead of an easy fix (transferring the 4th random roommate to a different apartment, we find out she's been living there for six months) we were told we could sign a relet form and get out of the lease. The lease should have been void because Rodney did not do his job and University Gables did not hold up their end of the deal. However, when the four of us went in to sign the relet form we were then notified that in order to get out we also had to pay a $200 cancellation fee along with rent for every month until we find someone to fill the spot (Yes, WE had to find someone to move in... they REFUSE to)

Needless to say University Gables WILL screw you over, all they care about is their money... they don't care about their tenants... GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING AND I MEAN EVERYTHING!!! That is the only thing I learned from this mess!!

DO NOT SIGN A LEASE WITH THEM YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!

Also, if you go over on utilities they will NOT tell you and will charge you extra (obviously) but will tack on late fees even though they won't notify you of the charges.
