I'm going to try and be fair about my comments. My fiance and I moved here about a year ago so I could finish school at MTSU. It was a great improvement from the last apartment we lived in in, but our income also increased so therefore, we could afford better.
In the year that we've been here it seems that the management has changed at least once (I don't recall being notified.) The new staff seems much friendlier and knowledgeable about running such a business than the previous.
As for comments about the blinds, once the new managment arrived, broken blinds were replaced almost immediately at no charge. And for the gate, half the time it works, half the time it doesn't. However, I don't blame the staff because it appears that the reason the gate gets broken is because of someone driving into them. I don't know if these people are drunk or just stupid, (trying to rush into the gate before it closes.) I believe this problem could be solved to some extent if each apartment were given TWO access cards instead of one since it appears the majority of tenants have 2 cars. (The majority of cars you see "sneaking" in are either of current tennants, friends, or delivery cars.) I haven't heard of any break-in/saftey issues, including the one about the car windows, so it probably wasn't that big of a deal. HEY IT COULD BE WORSE - As for my LAST apartment people would syphen gas from other cars and completely "gut" others. NO apartment complex is completely safe.
I noticed a lot of people mentioned seeing the police here a lot, alluding to the area being unsafe. However the cop that most people see is the cop that has been living in the complex for some years now.
Regarding the exercise room, with the new managment, a key is now required for entry. I assume this makes it less likely for machines to break, since previously tons of children would be running in and out of there, as well as anyone else who pleased. The only downside to this was that we were not notified about the key. Management had said we were, but when your method of notification is slipping a piece of paper half way through the door, wind and rain can often sweep the notes away.
Yes, bugs do come under the doors. I have yet to see any harmful ones though, mostly crickets and beetles, and they are not around the entire year. For this problem, the complex offers spraying, which requires you to call and ask for it (not too hard people!). I haven't done so myself, but the bugs don't bother me too much and they provide entertainment for my cat. Note: in the heavy rain storms that Murfreesboro often gets, rain also comes under the doors and makes a mess.
Oh and I do agree with many that the walls are EXTREMELY thin.
I could be wrong, but from where we're situated, this complex seems like more of a family place and it surprised me to see people complain about college kids and boomboxes at the pool. For us we can't seem to escape children - on skateboards, bikes, bouncing basketballs, playing with lots of big inflatable toys in the pool...

Despite these problems, I still believe this complex to be a decent place to live. The apartments are spacious, and overall, well built (not counting the door.) Some perks include having pets, washer&dryer, large closets, and options for garden tub and fireplace. They also look nice (which means a lot when you've seen what some others look like!)
If you do decide to move here, I reccomend getting an upstairs location or at least having an apartment that doesn't face the parking lot. Oh, and don't live in the "center" of the complex, unless you don't mind kids and bad parking.
Right now we're located in the very center of the complex, in front of the parking lot, on the bottom floor, surrounded by children. This is the worst possible location for us and we'll be moving to an upstairs location away from children soon.

And one last thing, If you commute to MTSU or Nashville, you may not want to live here or anywhere close, the traffic on South Church St is insane (I think it's one of the few roads that leads to 24) - But then again, these days, traffic anywhere in Murfreesboro is terrible!

Hope I helped with your decision!
