I wouldn't come back!

I moved here from another state where I had been living in an Archstone community that I LOVED! I was very impressed there and figured that I could expect the same level of professionalism, customer service, and peaceful living that I had experienced at the other complex. I was wrong! First of all, when I first arrived after a LONG flight expecting to come from the airport and check into my apartment, I found the complex office closed until Monday. I had been working closely with the office staff for the previous two weeks with regards to my move and I had assumed they were expecting me. I had to call the answering service and have them page someone to let me into the apartment. On top of that, I was unable to sign my lease for another two weeks because their printers were down. As I settled in, I soon realized that the construction of the complex left MUCH to be desired as I could hear EVERYTHING that was going on in ANY apartment around me... and I will not sicken you with what I heard. I quickly asked to be moved to another apartment on the complex or to be let out of my lease. The office staff attempted to get me into another apartment and then proceeded to lease the one I requested out from under me. I had to choose yet another apartment on the complex. I have less complaints about my current unit... noise is still an issue and bugs are even more of a problem. The common areas are not well lit and open into a wooded area behind the building lending easy access to lurkers... luckily, I have not seen any, but it still concerns me. In addition, receiving packages can be a problem. I had a package from my front door brought into the office at my request while I was out of town and when I returned, they told me they didn't have it. Upon further investigation (including extensive follow-up with the shipper), it turned out the package had been in the office after all. Lastly, maintenance. Hmmm... what to say. For the most part, I have not had too many problems. However, I have had several instances when it has taken a significant amount of time for repairs to be made. When my time comes, I will be glad to move. It saddens me because I trusted the Archstone brand name and from what I can tell, this was the best of the Archstone properties here in Nashville before they sold it to Alliance. I would not recommend this property, but if you make it out to the Western US, definitely give Archstone properties a good look!
