It really isn't that great, but it's not absolutely horrible either

Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2003
I lived here for two years, and it's really not that bad. I lived near the entrance though, so I never had problems parking. The gates really are a sad joke though. They got stuck closed one night after a power outtage and there were cars backed up inside the apartments trying to get out and out in the street trying to get in for at least half an hour. The gym is pitiful, but I like the laundry room. I've never had problems getting empty machines and they all seem to work.
I do have a problem with the birds that nested in the roof above my balcony and got droppings all over my porch. I sat on my balcony, maybe twice the whole two years I was there. I asked maintenance to do something about it, but like other reviewers have said, you have to ask them two or three times before they get it done right. The balcony was just too small in the first place for me to go to all that hassle to get it cleaned off.
The lovely mirror in the dining area of the model apartment' Missing from mine entirely.
And yes, the walls are paper thin. I can hear the man above me peeing in the morning, and the woman beside me singing while she cooks. I can hear people log onto their AOL accounts for heaven's sake.
However, it was clean when I moved in, the office staff is really nice and helpful, and the neighbors are great, with a couple of exceptions. (Namely, that peeing guy above me.) You can't expect a whole lot more for the area though, and I've seen a lot worse for the same money. They didn't hike up my rent either. It went from $535 to $545 and they were only going to raise it $5 if I had stayed for a 3rd term.
