shop around and read the apt reviews

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2004
We have lived at Brandywine Apts for a yr. As to whether or not we stay longer depends on the front office. In the past year my apartment has severly flooded twice. Once, when our hot water heater bursted and then when the upstairs neighbors hot water heater busted. (the neighbors didn't report it and it leaked for over 24hrs) When the neighbors apartment flooded into ours the leak was fixed pretty quickly and the repairs to our apartment were completed within a week. When our hot water heater broke it was a different story. The carpet was ruined throughout the apartment. We woke up to inches of water all throughout the living room, laundry room, bathrooms, bedroom. The water was cleaned up and the carpet dried in around 4-5 days. Three weeks went by and we reported to the main office that the padding throughout the apartment was still missing. (removed padding and some carpet due to damage) We were advised that the carpet and padding would be replaced promptly. It was all replaced in about two weeks. (We're up to 5 weeks waiting on repairs.) When the carpet was replaced in our hallway the carpet was a different color and even had grease stains telling me it came from another apartment. In addition to this, the carpet all throughout the apartment was never tacked down and consequently shrunk. After dealing with the office and their outside vendor we gave up. The vendor advised he would be back to glue the seams and tack the carpet down..never came back. That was the Thursday before Good Friday. Today is the 24th of May. We still have two different colors of carpet. The Carpet throughout the apartment has shrunk and won't reach the tack strips. (we tried) At this point we have given up. The office adv us each time that they rec the request for the repairs and the vendor adv they would fix it. They have failed to maintain an appropriate living standard. Also, if you get a bottom apartment all the walls are texturized and the above two floors are not and they also have ceiling fans. Also, we when our hot water heater was replaced we were advised by maintenance it was the 6th that week, and the second one that morning. Maintenance complained that the hot water heaters were the ORIGINALS.
