Earplugs and a blind eye are part our routine; welcome to apartment living.
Anyhoo, aside from the standing water in the showers, everything works fine and suits our needs. The gate scenario is always interesting. The pool is fine, the tennis courts are in need of resurfacing. The women at the office were very difficult and rude in the beginning, but have been fine since.
The lease is up soon and they are raising the rent, of course. However, when you cold call the office and ask them how much a 2 bdrm is, the reply is $100 less than we are paying currently. We can't wait to get out of the apt living, but we are stuck for at least another 6 months.
Should we just stay here' Other apartments seem like either the same or worse than here.
Has anyone ever negotiated a better price for an apartment here or anywhere where you were already living' How much do they usually raise it year to year' $40 per month'
Thanks for any response out there.
-Out of curiosity, anyone have a clue how the post office delivery guy spends 2 hours or more here every day' We are picturing a big screen t.v. in the mail room.

LOL---thanks for the good laugh today! I'm clueless as to why the mail guy spends so much time in that mail room. The TV theory sounds about right. I really couldn't stand BD. The office knew me by name and were very friendly but I just had an overall uneasy feeling being there. Our neighbors were up partying almost every night until 4am (or sometimes screaming at each other) and the apartment was just too small for 2 people! The gate WAS interesting--how hard is it to wait your turn when going through? It's not hard people--take about 5 seconds of your life to scan your stupid card. We just moved out in July but I was ready to leave last November! The drains are constantly plugged, our shower was slimy no matter how much I scrubbed and the pipes made noises whenever I would lift the knob to go from bath to shower. This wasn't just a small noise---it was a constant bellowing/screaming coming from the wall until you turned off the water! Anyways--I'm not really sure how much rent would be or how to finesse your way out of paying so much but in my opinion, there are other places worth the amount you're paying now!
