Townhouses

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007
My fiance and I moved into a townhouse directly across from the basketball courts in February of 2006. During the winter everything was great. The only complaint we would have had would have been that the doors and windows were drafty. We also would have liked to have had new carpet before we moved in since the person before us had at least one dog and I am allergic (They refused to put in new carpet for me though). Once it got warm, after school and all summer, kids were everywhere. The basketball courts were full of kids who would scream and yell profanities constantly. If you have children you don't want exposed to that behavior I would not move here. The pool was over crowded during the summer and again, the kids were running around screaming, yelling, cussing and making everyone that was there to relax very uncomfortable. If you speak spanish - you will probably be ok with it but a lot of times me and my english speaking friends were made uncomfortable by spanish speaking people who would stare and make us feel as if they were talking about us. Spanish is definitly not the only language that made us feel this way - there were several languages that we didn't recognize that did the same thing- just mostly spanish. Someone moved into a townhouse 3 doors down from us who had a lot of people living in the home and took over the parking lot. We only had 1 car at the time but found we didn't always get to park in front of our home. People would blair their stereos outside of the apartments at all hours. If this was just as driving by it would not have bothered me but they would park and crank the stereo up to hear it at the basketball courts or leave it blairing while they went in the house to do whatever - evidently take a shower, put on makeup and get a massage! The officer who lives at the apartment who is suppose to respond to after hours calls - will take forever, don't expect whatever is going on to still be going on by the time he gets there.
We know of several apartments and townhouses that were broken into during the 1 year that we lived there.
The laundry mat area is always full when you need it, and half of the time there is only 1 or 2 dryers that are actually working.
The hot tub is great - but eventually you will find out so, I am going to go ahead and tell you - people put their babies in the hot tub. Yes, kids still in diapers. It's really gross.
The staff, Marilyn was WONDERFUL! However, the rest of the staff pretty much sucks. Unless you are male - the manager lady will not seem very nice. All the men I know thought she was great, all the women thought she was a -----. And it's not jealousy - it's the way she acts. She is not nice to women, but she is EXTREMLY nice to men. There was another girl who worked in the office who did seem very nice but I think she was only there part time. I only saw her once the entire time I lived there.
We had a great neighbor on one side of us and her townhouse got broken into and the people on the other side of her were horrible. She couldn't wait to move. The people on the other side of us you could hear screaming kids and parents as well as what I thought sounded like a kid getting a rough beating. Made me feel bad but I never saw it - I didn't know what to do. What' Piss off your neighbor so later they or someone they know breaks into your house or car or they are constantly doing other things to mess with you' No thanks. The gangs were getting bad enough in this area. I was to scared to go check my mail after dark, let alone get someone else pissed off in the area.
The traffic on Murfreesboro Rd is horrible. There are school nearby and if you have to be at work at 8 am - you better leave way early. I lived 7 miles from work and it often took me over an hour to get home. Not to mention the characters you will see on that road. We once saw a guy get beat up and robbed on the side of the road between a bank and McDonalds. Not long before Christmas.
My fiance worked nights and the staff would come mow the grass or repair the roof, siding, etc. at 7 a.m. and stay around most of the day. Calling the office asking that they do this at a later time did no good what-so-ever.
1 great thing about the townhouses - they have great closet space.
I am glad I do not live here anymore. I thank God I got out before anything was broken into or stolen or anyone got hurt.
