Overall a great place to live...

I currently live in Brighton Valley Apartments but will not be renewing my lease at the end June. The last time I renewed my lease, the rent went up $40 which is a bit much for me. I've lived here for about 2 1/2 years and don't have many complaints. The management staff was pretty nice, especially Marilyn. Maintenance always fixed whatever issues I had the same day (I know many friends at other places that can't say the same). I live all the way at the top of the hill so I'm not bothered by the noise the kids make by the courts and the pool but the children do play in areas that I consider the parking lot but they really don't have anywhere else to play. If anything as a parent, my concern would be them darting out in front of cars driving through thru the complex. My only complaint about the townhouse itself would be they are not very well insulated. And with the complex, my car was broken into twice and management did not show much concern. As with other tenants, they told me it had never been a problem before. My neighbors car window was broken the same night. As far as noise and traffic goes, it just depends on who your neighbors are. People come and go so often that no one that was there when I moved in is still there. The traffic on Murfreesboro sucks but honestly if I could afford to, I'd stay probably a few more years.
