Chateau is an easy 10-15 min walk to Vanderbilt. Although it is an older (1950s') complex, the apartments seem to be in fairly good condition. Many of the current residents are young families or graduate students, so there are not a lot of noisy parties going on. The pool is nice and well-maintained, office staff are friendly, and the maintenance personnel are great! If you want a basic apartment with reasonable rent in a good location Chateau is good.

The main drawbacks to this complex are the lack of washer/dryer hookups in the apartments (though there is a 24-hr coin-operated laundry facility on-site) and the very inadequate insulation in the buildings. In very hot or cold months, the electric bill can be quite high ($100-200/month).
