It's AFTER you leave that they get you...

We lived at the Grove for a short time while looking for a house. We thought it was a great experience and had no significant problems while there.
But 13 MONTHS after we left, we receive a demand for money from a debt collection agency -- one with a horrible record of customer service and responding to complaints at the BBB. The Grove had charged us for replacing the carpet. We have no idea why. But for over a year, despite having our forwarding address and phone number, they made no attempt to contact us to tell us anything about it. Instead they waited 13 months then put this horrible collection agency on us.
Now the Grove refuses to answer questions about the matter at all, and the collection company -- when they're not just hanging up on you because they don't like your questions -- tells us they can't tell us what the charge is for beyond that it's for a carpet. We can't get answers! But in the meantime, our credit rating is being affected by this so-called overdue debt.
NOT recommended.
