Current tenant... regretting signing the lease renewal...

I should have known something would happen as soon as I signed that lease renewal. This community is old and the units need work. I live in a townhouse. The bathroom upstairs has a toilet that will not flush correctly. Maintenance has been here several times to fix it but it still isn't flushing right. One of the staffers suggested they might have to replace the toilet. It hasn't been done and that was months ago. So we cannot use the bathroom upstairs half the time. That's very inconvenient in the middle of the night. My air isn't working correctly right now. It's actually cooler outside than it is inside right now. But I cannot open my windows because some genius painted over them before we moved in. Maintenance suggested that I leave my balcony door open tonight. Number one, that's a potential safety hazard. Number two, if I'm sleeping upstairs but the patio door is in the back of the downstairs, then how does that help me to stay cool. For $790/mo (more than my mortgage payment in OH), my air should work or someone should come and fix it immediately. I will not be renewing my lease next year and am definitely looking for a new place. Maybe it's time to test out the buyers' market here in TN.

Maintenance here sucks! Termites ate thru my floor and the water heater fell thru. They propped it up with 2 by 4s and told me to keep the door shut.... Then my place flooded and they came in to clean up. I had to leave town and was told not worry, they could take care of it. I came home to find that they left all of my doors and windows open for an entire weekend.
