I lived in the Grove while a student. That meant to the staff at the Grove that I was stupid and inferior. They attempted to charge us for things that you can't even imagine and always stuck their noses up in the air at us. The electric gate at this "gated community" was a complete and total nightmare and came down and smashed my rear windshield to pieces. They said they were not liable because the gate was "mechanical in nature" and they cannot predict it's behavior. The gate is a nightmare, the staff are a bunch of ignorant, snooty fools and I cannot even cound the number of neighbors of mine that filed legal complaints and subpoenaed the Grove to court when they tried to illegally charge fees. I have never wanted to inflict violence on someone so much, as I did with the staff at the Grove. They were rude to my mother. Don't live here if you expect to be treated like a human being and to pay a fair amount for the services.

Dear Anonymous,
After three years I have not been to court, nor has anyone filed a lawsuit. As for the gate, a shattered windshield would have been caught on our recorded tape and we would have not been rude about it. While gates are mechanical, they are most often down due to misuse by our residents. We are sorry for your perceived bad experience and wish you all the best in your future endeavors.

Actually, it was not a lawsuit and did not ever have to GO to court. It was settled before it went to court because the Grove knew that they were in error. Furthermore, the windshield incident was caught on tape and due to the avoidance tactics mentioned before ("mechanical in nature") and the fact that I had complete non-deductable insurance coverage for windshield damage, I did not pursue the legal ramifications that would have ensued otherwise against the Grove. I can cite the date of the incident if you want to check your tapes. I just think that it is not worth the hastle to live at the Grove, period.
