I moved in to Hickory Point mid-August, and not only was I extremely excited and pleased, but my opinion of the establishment has only increased since then!
I have no idea why some other reviews rag on the staff - I have never seen more friendly, energetic and efficient office staff at any apartment complex anywhere! And I have lived in 5 since 2001. The clubhouse has free Starbucks coffee and cookies which I get frequently and am ALWAYS greeted warmly by the staff. They'll even replace your lightbulbs when they burn out.
The buildings are all brand new, with brand new appliances, high ceilings, and washer and drier already in the unit. Unlike other apts, the kitchens here look fantastic and you don't feel like you're living with stuff that came from the 70s. On top of that I have one of the best views in the city, as my window overlooks the Nashville skyline.
The gym is amazing with brand new equipment, tv screens on all the machines, amazing lighting, decor, and a half basketball court.
They are very strict about who they let live here, which means no criminal history. And they're also very picky about trash and keep this place looking clean 24/7. Its so refreshing to be able to drive in and feel like I live in a real community instead of a raggy, trashy apt complex.
In summary, this place is the best kept secret in Nashville and I highly, HIGHLY encourage anyone who can afford it to move in. It will be a sad day when I actually have to move out.
NOTE: From my comments you might assume I'm just a staff member posing as a resident. I assure you I am an actual resident. Shoot me an email and I'll gladly tell ya more.

I agree 100% with this posting. The staff has gone out of their way to accommadate my every need. Unlike many apartments staffs, this one does not go through a rotation of new employees every month. I've talked to the same people for the 8 months I've lived here. Amy, Scott and Kathleen are great. The grounds are spotless and beautiful except for some areas where the rain runs off. But I see the groundskeepers making constant efforts to improve that situation. The entire complex is well lit including the pool, mail area, parking lots and breezeways. All of the gates work well and are closed all day, not just at night. My electric bills are between $90-$135 depending on how much energy we use.
I live in a 3 bedroom and it is still very affordable. My roommates and I are extremely happy in this complex.
I'm not really sure what the other reviewers are talking about. One thing about this complex is that it is a very young community. That is a positive or a negative depending on what you're looking for. But some things to remember are: It's an apartment. That means you have to deal with other people. Sometimes folks make noise. That will happen anywhere. Also, things break. Yes, these are brand new buildings but I owned a home for 3 years prior to moving here and as a single female I eventually got tired of fixings things that broke. No matter where you live, things break. The maintenance staff here is very timely considering the number of units they have to tend to. Lastly, luxuries cost money. All of the brand new appliances included in your brand new apartment use energy. If you leave all the track lights on, all the computers and TVs on, turn the air down to 65 degrees, do 6 loads of laundry a week and run the dishwasher every single day, then your electric and water bills are going to be higher. It's not insulation people. It's economics. Get educated and stop whining. IF you don't believe me, try shutting down your computer at night and see the difference in your next bill.
Hickory Point is a great place to live in a great part of town. Nolensville is nearby but I've yet to experience that being a problem. It's actually the quickest way downtown at night if you want to avoid the highways. All in all I love living here and plan on renewing my lease, as do my roommates. It sounds to me like the negative posters on this website are spoiled rich kicks that have no concept of not having a silver spoon in their mouth. Move back home if you can't live in the real world.
