Pretty nice, but terrible office staff

I really liked Hillmeade as a community. The tenants are nice and social. The grounds are well kept. The apartments are pretty nice but I do have a few complaints. For extra $$ you can get newer appliances. The windows are really old. They are hard to open and close and are very drafty in the winter. My 3 story townhouse had 2 thermostats. One upstairs and one downstairs. The middle floor(master bedroom) was very cold in the winter. And heating was very expensive.

Maintenance requests were addressed quickly. But sometimes it took many attempts to get something fixed . The day after I moved in I put in a request to get the door knob/handle on the storm-door fixed. Maintenance crew left a note on the door that said the part was on order. Six months later, it still hadn't been fixed so I put in another request. When they worked on it they actually broke it more. I had to work on it myself to get it back to its previous condition. When I moved out it still hadn't been fixed. Other maintenance requests were handled better though.

My biggest complaints are about parking and the office staff. First, there is one assigned parking space per apartment and other unnumbered spaces for anyone. There were not enough open spaces. Cars would be parked in front of the mailboxes, on the curb, and sometimes in the grass.

Office staff was terrible. They were completely incompetent. If you tell them anything they "make a note of it" which means they will completely forget about it. On the day I was supposed to do my walk thru (before I moved in)the apartment wasn't ready-it was being painted(but they didn't bother to call me to let me know and reschedule). So I didn't get to do a walk thru. I called the day before moving to make sure everything was in order. They said everything was great. On moving day I showed up but they didn't have the keys made. They told me to come back in a few hours. Does it take a few hours to make a copy of a key'' I was paying a moving company by the hour. I didn't get all the keys and gate cards for probably two weeks.
