Don't Live Here!

I will write this lengthy review so that anyone considering living here should reconsider.
I have multiple issues with this apartment complex and its management. It started before I even moved in. I am a college student at Vanderbilt University and was looking for an affordable place myself and two others. The price seemed reasonable at the time, and the even promised me that our apartment was getting remodeled with new fixtures and flooring for the kitchen and bathrooms. However... We get ready to move in on our first day. We were assigned to one apartment. So we go to the apartment and open it. Guess what... someone was already leaving there. That was an awkward conversation. After returning to the management office, we discussed the confusion and they said we meant for it to be this apartment. We again return to another apartment only to find that not one remodeling project had taken place. Everything had its old original look, no new floors, fixtures or anything Once again we return to discuss the apartment before signing the contract. They promised to fix a place in the kitchen floor and a door that automatically would lock you into a bedroom( you had to pry your way to get the door to open) , but they could not get the new fixtures. Seemingly they ran out of funds or something. Then when signing the contract, we were told that water was included in the rent and would not need to be paid. However, on the last page of the contract they snuck in a line saying that you agreed to pay a water fee of x amount. (I don t remember the real amount).
We get moved in and never here from the staff again. They never fixed the door or the floor. Not once did the management ever attempt to voluntarily communicate with us. Now for the convenience of a shorter read I will list the other problems I experienced here.
1. My car was vandalized and spray painted. I called management and they simply said there is nothing we can do for you. I filed a police report and worked on buffing spray paint off.
2. All the power outlets in my living room and the one outlet that went to refrigerator stopped working. I happened to be able to reach a working outlet and plug my refrigerator into. I checked the breaker but everything was fine. I called management and they were going to send someone. I was not at the apartment, but they reported back that, the refrigerator seems to be working, no work was done. Oh really' I know it was working once I found a plug that would work. I continued with no outlets in the living room waiting for them to send another repairman. Eventually it fixed itself and will probably break again.
3. A friend lost the key to his apartment after hours. It happened that his roommate was out of town. So he called management to see if they could let him back in his apartment. They rudely answered and said, I m sorry there is nothing I can do for you it is after hours. I suggest you call a locksmith. Luckily he could stay at our apartment. He had to go to work in the same clothes from the day before since they do not open till nine. He returned at lunch for management to then give him a key. (Some of the management lives within the apartment complex.)
4. I was scheduled to move out on September 17. I asked that they prorate the monthly payment so that we could pay a reduced amount for September. They reported back the amount guess what they forgot how to do math. I then walked them through the math. They then agreed to the amount.
5. After agreeing to the amount myself and a roommate paid our rent for September. My last roommate went up to the management office and asked what do I owe. They replied with an amount that was twice what he had ever paid. The claimed that we owed the full amount for the month this was the exact same person I had walked through the math a month earlier. After a brief argument, and another math lesson, we got the price worked out.
I m so happy to be moving out of this apartment complex. I will never recommend this apartment, and I will be reporting there management to the parent company.
Also if you are interested in a type of bug I haved killed multiple times in the apartment here it is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scutigera_coleoptrata. It turns out it is a centipede with the ability to bite.
