This is now Brentwood Station apartments. When I heard of that proposed name change, I anticipated a rent increase. That just happened and it was $40 per month for a year long lease. (Update this has been raised to about $80 a month) A month to month lease is $100 a month more. There is a new apartment manager. She has 17 years experience and seems anxious to please her tenants. With a magic name change we are no longer in a bad neighborhood but in exclusive Brentwood. Oh, and can justify a huge rent increase for such an exclusive area, which is really 3 miles away. I have had my car broken into here and also my apartment. This apartment complex supposedly has a lower crime rate than some of the others. It seems like many other apartment complexes, they have had their share of leaky roofs and water in the apartments. In my old apartment you can see where the ceiling is buckled somewhat from the weight of water that leeked through the roof. Fortunately it did not break through into my apartment. The floors on my apartment were also squeeky, but when I first moved there my rent wasn't in the luxury apartment price range. I sometimes would notice an odor in my apartment. It seems that under certain conditions odors from the sewers will back up into the apartment.
The new owners seem to be somewhat of shysters. They have a $2000 penalty clause if you leave your lease early. Also you are required to give them 2 months notice. Not many persons can plan that far in advance so they can easily generate more income. I had to buy some refundable pool passes and when I left they would not return my deposit. The old managers won't refund it either. I believe it is spelled out in the TN statute code that the new owners are responsible for returning tenants deposits with the old owner. I will have to say though that I got my whole deposit back on the apartment.
I have since move out of these apartments to a new neighborhood with better demographics and less crime. It is worth the drive.
