Overall it's not a bad place to live.
The front office staff are decent folks. Brandi is sweet and Curtis seems to be TCB very well. No comment on Shirley.
Maaintanence is awesome. These guys fix stuff the same day if it is possible. They are working on 40 year old buildings so some things are more difficult than others.
AT&T has been installing new fiber optic cables so their internet, phone and hopefully TV signals (if available in this area) should be up to date. Comcast installed their cables in the 80's and they still work fine.
Kroger is across the street. Publix is about 3 miles away. Many fast food and sitdown places within walking distance. Mexican, sushi, thai, greek... lots of variety. If you like to eat out and don't like to drive far for it, this is your place. The Japanese Steak House at the other end of Bellevue is a great place to eat.
Want to wet your whistle' The Alley Pub (Sports bar), The Cammel (poker nights), and the restaraunts all sell liquor by the drink. A lot are within staggering distance of Irquois. Just be careful crossing the street. Please do not walk down Hicks Road, it is narrow and at night you might not be seen in the curve by all the race cars.
Bellevue has 2 movie theaters and one of them is a good one. One Carmike and one Regal, so if it's new and hot, it's on in Bellevue somewhere. Blockbuster and Hollywood Video are here, but Hollywood is at the other end of Bellevue where all the new stuff is.
Whats with all the water leaks in Irquois' Everytime I turn around, water is coming up out of a parking lot or street somewhere. Some leaks (like the one next to the main office) seem to get repaired every year or two. No wonder they started charging for water on top of the rent.
Here kitty, kitty, kitty.... Spring is coming so watch out for all those kittens running around everywhere. Please don't try to catch them, they are wild cats without their shots and eating out of your dumpsters (you know what you put in there). A scratch from one of them could send you, or your kids, to the hospital.
There are a couple (maybe 3) deer running around the woods. You will see them in the streets, especially up on the hill, all year long. Possoms, raccoons, squirrels and bunnies will be seen as well. We have the city in the front (bottom of the hill) and the country in the back (top of the hill). That may influence your apartment location selection.
The speed limit in Iroquois is posted to be 15 mph. The average car travels at about 40mph thru there and I have seen some much faster than that. I know the little kids like to play in the streets, but with all the young folk living here, and always seeming to be late for something, please advise them to be careful. There is plenty of green grass to play on, a basketball court and 2 pools. No "Slow - Watch for Children" signs anywhere.
The apartments are old. The walls are thin and if you have someone living above you be ready to know where they are at all times. In some cases the people below you are just as bad. The people next to you are not so bad, but I can hear the guys stereo 2 units over and one behind me when he gets his groove on. The appliances are cheap ones but work. Lots of little things are wrong, but like I said these places were built in the 60's. Don't expect too much.
Parking is good in some areas, worse in others. Way up on the hill is fine, coming down the hill is not so fine. The middle section is crowded and the bottom of the hill seems pretty good. Lighting and safety are ok. Just don't expect a note if someone runs into your car. I didn't get one until the third time I was hit. The note came from a police officer telling me they hauled that drunk away (he hit 6 cars) and to contact so-in-so for a copy of the report. The office staff was very uncaring in all cases. My car alarm now just blows up the car if it is touched, killing everything in a 20 yard radius. I live up on the hill where parking is ample. At least around me it is. LOL!
Bugs.... ewwwww... yes you will see them. Hopefully they will be dead when you do. Pest Control is done like clockwork, but it has to be in this wooded type area and with the age of the buildings.
Overall, a decent place to live. I think they are overpriced for what you get, but some of the other placesin Bellevue at the same price are a lot worse. If you want better, fork out another $100 a month.
