I previously had a medium/good review. I have now lived here longer and am changing my mind. I moved in at the end of August and have finally had enough. What pushed me over the edge is that there are constant "building inspections." There are a complete invasion of your privacy, and seem to be happening every week. Today I was sitting home relaxing, and the maintenance guy was entering all the apartments on my floor without prior notice, which is illegal.
As I said above, I moved in August and was told the keycards for the front door were backordered. I still have no keycard and it is almost March, so I am forced to always walk around to the back. The elevator gets stuck at least once a week and sometimes once a day. The parking lot is a challenge b/c people park in random places. The heat is radiators and is controlled by the management; there is no thermostat. The radiators when on are INSANELY hot, making me have to open the windows when its 20 degrees outside and go around the apartment in my underwear. However, the heat doesn't come on until its 32 degrees or below. Therefore, if its like 38 for a few days, we're freezing our asses off b/c there is no insulation and we have to use space heaters. There are only 2 good things about living here:
1) I can walk to the Vandy campus
2) There are hardwood floors
Being able to walk to school is totally awesome. However, I have concluded that it is not worth it. I pay about $800 for a studio with utilities inlcuded. The hassles of living at the Lee outweigh the positives.
UPDATE: I have moved out and am now struggling to get my deposit back. I paid $400, $200 of which is refundable. They sent me a bill for $70 saying if I didn't pay within a week it would be turned over to a collection agency. I called immediately and was told that was the letter they send everyone and not to worry, I would get $130 of my deposit back. I didn't even bother to try to dispute the charges, I wasn't expecting to get ANY money back. To get your deposit back you MUST keep a copy of your lease which states that you made a deposit, clean your apartment VERY WELL (mine was ----- and span but they still charged me $70) and deal with them in writing for everything.
If anyone does sue them, I will be a witness for you.
