Avoid the Lee Apartments at all Cost

The management at this glorified slum changes more than most people change underwear in a day's time. The reason your rent includes your utilities is because the building is not up to codes and they do not want any of the utility companies or an insurance company inspecting the wiring or pipes. One of the staff members divulged that detail which I had to use when I got fed up and demanded I be released from my lease. The windows are painted shut, and I had to use air conditioning in January because of the poorly-regulated radiators. The management also leads you to believe they can enter your apartment when you are not there--this is a violation of renter's rights in the state of Tennessee. The breakers are always being thrown off because the buiding cannot accommodate all the currents from the window air conditioning units, and I had to purchase one unit myself--although I found out other tenants were provided more than one window unit if you took the manager--Mary Jane--chocolate candy. She got "knocked up" by the Hispanic maintenance guy when she should have been doing her damn job. Now she is probably on the government dole with an illegitimate kid that my taxes are supporting. Their idea of upgrading an apartment between tenants is to take in a paint gun and just spray lead-based paint all over the place. Mary Jane's predecessor was a loudmouth named Lisa whose motor mouth could be heard all over the place. When I had had enough, I did some research and found that one of the investors/owners was on the Vanderbilt University Board of Trust, so I just started at the top and told him that I was going to the media unless my lease was terminated. Do not be fooled by their claims of "charm" and "historic". Don't deposit one dime in their coffers. I assure you the rent will increase while the quality of service diminishes. They capitalize on the proximity to Vanderbilt and West End, but believe you me, you can do better than the Lee. You would be better off in a trailer park.

Wow... What an amazing story. I almost forgot I was on an apartment review website. Could this have been any more dramatic???? Whew!!!
In my apartment search, I've found that you have to take these "reviews" with a grain of salt.

That's what I did too (took the reviews with a grain of salt) and I didn't listen to my mother who told me to not rent here. Well, stupid me did because I thought some people must have just had bad luck in their apartment situation but boy was I wrong and my mom was so right!!! I have NEVER in my ten years of apartment renting ever experienced a place as AWFUL as this place. And most places you are able to get out of your lease somehow if things aren't working out but they won't even let you out of your lease here if you have mold in your dang apartment. If you're thinking of living here please don't. I would rather sleep on someone's floor at their house than live here....even if it were free to live here. Hate it!
