Crime kept hush hush, among everything a nightmare apartment would entail

I referred to this website prior to moving to Ridgelake. The worst mistake I made was not listening to the people trying to warn me on here. However, we had 4 days to find an apartment as my fiance was given short notice of being hired here in Nashville (we lived 2 hours away at the time).
Moving from a 3 br, 2 ba home to a 1 br 1 bath, 700 sqft apartment was expected to be a culture shock for both of us, and we knew there would be some downsides. The silver fish, ants, and spiders weren't so bad... however, I'd never seen a cockroach in my life until of course I moved here. I know that cockroaches are going to be found in almost any apartment, but this was rediculous! Not only am I allergic to them, but am terrified also! I was finding them almost on a daily basis, and I keep my apartment in perfect condition because I'm a neat freak. It's so embarrassing to have company over and see one them crawling up the wall.
Now, for the reason most of you prob opened my review, is the crime rate that's skyrocketed in the past month. I use the term skyrocket because that's what it seems to have done, however after thinking back, it's probably only because i've heard what's been going on from other residents, or have witnessed it for myself. The point is, you won't hear it from the managers.
At the beginning of this month, there were about 5 car break ins in one night in my parking lot right outside of my apartment in the middle of the night. A motorcycle was also stolen. While on vacation two weeks ago, we spoke with an employee there whom my fiance is friends with, and discovered that someone in the next bulding over had been served a felony warrant and was taken to jail. Last week, 5 boys in their early 20's were found in the club house after hours and sent on their way. After inspecting the clubhouse to make sure nothing was wrong, they discovered the Men's bathroom trashed with *used* condoms strewn everywhere. My fiance then called the main office the next day to ask what they did about the situation, and they proceeded to tell him that they had no idea what he was talking about.
However, it does get worse. Not two nights ago, I was out with my fiance and siblings when we were informed that a woman right below us had committed suicide. I'm just thankful I wasn't in my apartment to hear/witness it.
My fiance got a phone call from one of the security guards that wasn't working the night the suicide took place. The reason he was calling was because he wanted details. The staff didn't even inform him of what had taken place, much less called him out that night! The "courtesy officer" that's been employed by the complex to ensure the safety of the residents was also not called out while C.S.I's and police officers swarmed the woman's aprtment.
Parking is a joke here at the complex. If you have a 9-5 job, you had better come straight home if you don't want to walk half a mile to your apartment. There's no parking spots after 8:00 on weeknights, and sometimes weekends too if residents have company over. Plus, people that own motorcycles get to take up a whole pretty little parking space all to itsself. Trust me, it makes you want to ram it into the curb and leave it.
Maintenance slacks also. During the heat wave, our air conditioner started acting up. It took maintenance over a week to finally come and fix it. In the meantime, we had to endure our apartment being 80 degrees at 3:00 AM... and we're on the bottom floor!
In a nutshell... save your money and go somewhere else! I am! And in a hurry!
