Never even had the chance to live there!

This is the email I wrote to the Apartment Selector I worked with to find this place:
Hey Candi,
I hate to inform you the apartment complex Madison at Ridgelake called me yesterday, they said they would not be renting to me because of a non violent felony I had from 7 years ago. The office manager said they do not rent to anyone who has a felony on their record, no matter how long ago it was, even 20years. It is their company policy to do so fine, put in bold on the application, no where does it say they do not rent to felons.
They also kept my $150, they told me was to hold the apartment, and said they did not have to give it back. They told me numerous times I was okay to do a change of address, and follow through with my moving plans. Then they waited till 3 yesterday to inform me of this, with ten days left to move.
If you remember correctly, I expressed my concerns about this place because of the bad rating on apartmentratings.com. I would continue believe they are not as ethical as they make themselves out to be, and the ratings site is fairly correct. Nor are they trying to clean up their reputation, by acting felonious themselves, and taking peoples money.
Remember, they did this with ten days to move, right before the weekend, and kept what they called my security deposit. They say now; the money was for the application fee, so please note for future reference to clients they have a $150.00 application fee.
I will be going to the courts on Monday to file a law suite against them for their unethical business practices.I feel I grounds to do so because of the way they handled the situation, waiting till the last minute to tell me. When, I called them several times to check on the status of my app., and they never informed me during the process they do not rent to felons...AT ALL.
I do not know what to do at this point; I have been put between a rock and a hard place, with very little money for a deposit on new place. I have been denied jobs, lost my right to vote, and paid for my past in more ways than I can count. Now I have been denied the right to have a roof over my head, by people who should be punished themselves for their own actions.
If you have any new suggestions, please help.
Thank you for your time, AD2Hw9Wn8Umb3NN1w1jt
