I read the other reviews, and it seems like it is the same problems over and over with them. The gates NEVER work...There's no point in having them, when they do work it isn't for long.
I also had problems with the management. I called and told them I was probably going to move out of state and was wondering if they had a community in that state (they didn't) so I could maybe transfer my lease. They reminded me to "Make sure and give 30 days notice before you move." I ended up staying until the end of my lease and then moving. I gave them 30 days notice in writing like they requested. When I took it in they told me that I would have to pay an extra month to get my 60 days notice. Sure enough it was in my lease, but I hadn't read it since I signed it, I just took their word for it when I called. I threw a fit in the office while several potential customers were there and they let me by with out paying the extra money.
As a side note, my boyfried would go in the office, and the girls would flirt with him like crazy. They knew we were together, b/c they would see us all the time working out and swimming together. I'm generally not very jealous, but it was ridiculous. He finally just stopped going in the office, because they were way over the top.
Bottom line, there are MUCH better places to live to avoid the problems that I had. I would NEVER live at another Archstone property.
