Living here is NOT within your best interest.

Years at this apartment: 2000 - 2002
When I first moved in two years ago Archstone seemed like a good place to live. A bit expensive, but I thought ?I am living somewhere nice, it is worth the money.? Generally, I live by the rule: You get what you pay for; unfortunately this rule has failed me when relating to my residence at Archstone Briley Parkway. The past 18 months have been a nightmare (yes, I can honestly say that I lived happily for 6 months).
To start, parking is a disaster; if my apartment were to ever catch fire, the fire department would need to move 4 plus cars to park a truck and begin putting out my home. It is not as if the people parked in the fire lane are at fault, there is nowhere else to put their cars.
After the fire hazard caused by parking conditions come the maintenance services. Boy, I was really joking the first 6 times I asked to have the breezeway lights and parking lot lights fixed. The request submitted in writing (20 days ago) was a joke also? I really don?t mind not being able to see my way into my apartment. [Note: The time frames above are literal]
And speaking of jokes, it must have been a joke when I was provided with a written notice that the security gate would be working on April 1st because almost 3 months later the gate is still not working. I do not mind this much however. When the gate does start to work for some strange reason, it happens with out warning causing me to show how easy it is to ?sneak? by the faulty gate system (because I don?t carry the access card anymore).
The laundry facilities would be really convenient if they worked. Once you have kicked in the door (if it has not been kicked in already) because the security code has changed again without notice, it will only cost you around $2.00 and 4 hours of your time to find the working dryer (you know, the ONE that actually dries clothes) to dry one load of clothes.
If you like receiving mail, you will need to purchase a PO Box or go to Mail Boxes Etc. I miss about 1 in 3 magazines and have never gotten my credit card bills on time (we are talking several pieces of important mail go missing every month).
If you LIKE being overcharged for services that you will not receive, if you ENJOY being let down by people that are (not incapable but) simply unwilling to do their job, if you are THRILLED at setting money on fire just to watch it burn, you will LOVE being a resident at Archstone Briley Parkway. If you want a fair price for services received and management that simply does nothing more than what they are paid to do, then you will want to look somewhere else.
