My son moved here from Colorado, and the office personnel were just tickled to rent him the apartment. I paid the pet fee, the deposit for damages/remodeling, etc., and then when he moved out a year or so later, they hit him up AGAIN for more money, saying that he had damaged the carpet and had to pay for new carpet. What was the remodeling deposit supposed the cover that we paid when he first moved in''''' Why did he have to pay that in the beginning and then get charged AGAIN after he moved' Crooked damn people. They claimed he never paid that up front, and it wasn't until a few months ago that I found a letter of receipt from LeiDena White, that had been sent to me shortly after my son had rented the apartment, stating we had paid 6 months' rent, paid up front, and also that I had paid the $300 pet fee PLUS the $150 redecorating fee,. (Which we were told was to cover any damages to the apartment, including the carpet) It also stated that we had also paid a $40 application fee and a $60 trash fee. All total, we had given them, in advance, a check for $4201.45. Unfortunately, I found the letter too late for my son to show that letter as proof of already paying them that money. Before moving out, over a year later, he notified the office that he was moving before the next month's rent came due. He explained he was getting his phone and other utilities cut off and would be leaving. He tried contacting them the afternoon he moved, but it was night when he finished the move, and no one was answering the office phone. Since he had already given notice of his leaving, he just locked the apartment and left the keys inside. BUT, they punished him for doing that, by charging him ADDITIONAL rent because he didn't personally come to the office and turn the keys in. They tried to say that it was several weeks before they realized he was gone and that he had to pay them that rent for that month. So in the end, he was charged twice for the REDECORATING and was charged for rent in an apartment he had moved out of and he had already given notice that he was moving from before rent came due again!!! He not only did NOT get his $150 deposit back when he moved, but was charged again the redecorating fee, and charged for the extra rent when he had already moved before the rent had come due. Also, he kept a very high water bill while he lived there, because the commode leaked and also ran constantly and no one would come fix the damn thing. So he had to keep paying a ridiculously high water bill. I would NOT recommend this place to my worst enemy!!! RENTERS BEWARE, unless they have improved 300 percent over the past couple of years.
