I moved from a small town and chose Polo Park because of it's location, safety, and low rent. I have been here since August 2006, and cannot wait to leave. In the year I have been here, I have had problems with the management not knowing the amount for rent that was agreed upon in my lease, wasps and bees on my balcony, spiders and silverfish in my apartment, a leaking water heater, loud construction in the early hours of the morning, the lights in the stairwell being off when I get home from work, and most recently my air-conditioning going out. It took them 4 days to get me a portable air-conditioner and i had to call angry because my apartment was over 92 degrees just to get something to help me out. They had me wait a week from the time they said I would have a new unit in the apartment to when it was actually installed. They told me twice it was already in and then acted confused when I called to tell them angrily that it wasn't installed. Seriously! It's July and it's hot! I also recieved a notice that my lease would not be renewed when the time was up due to rennovations. They gave me plenty of notice, but refused to let me leave early after they told me that they would be "flexible" with me in the final month. The only person in the office who even knows my name is Rick. He has been very personable and helpful. The rest of them... rude and very inprofessional. And the apartments DEFINATLEY aren't worth the money. I feel sorry for all those moving vans in the parking lot because they have no idea what they are getting into.
