Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2006
I have lived in Post Ridge since August 2005 - 9 months. The office staff has completely changed 3 times since moving in, so it's hard to ever really know who you are dealing with. However, the only person who has ever seemed even remotely decent is the new manager - Kimberly. As far as my experiences at Post Ridge...I signed my lease at one price, and when I went to pick up my keys, they told me that there had been a mistake and my rent was actually going to be $60 higher per month. However, I let them know very quickly that I have a lease stating my rent price and that was a binding contract, so I was able to keep my original lease price. Disturbances began the very first morning after moving in. I awoke at 8am on a Sunday morning to the sound of rap music blaring through my walls. This was a regular occurence from my neighbors. However, I let it go on for approximately 2 months before filing the first complaint and I was assured that something would be done. Then the office staff changed, the noise from next door continued. I made multiple complaints (probably 20 or more) to no avail. The last office manager even told me twice that he had a letter sent from the property attorney to the neighbors giving them 14 days to correct the problem or face eviction, but he later told me that he had never spoken with the attorney. Finally, that particular manager called the police on the neighbors after 2 complaints one night and they nearly beat my door down after the police left - but did the manager do anything' No, of course not. Oh, and my Christmas display - I had lights up and ground stakes around the tree in front of my apartment - VANDALIZED one night. The same night - there were 2 kids caught in the act vandalizing another lady's Christmas display, but nothing was done to them or their parents. This occurred around 11pm, which brings me to another complaint - kids romp around the apartment complex all hours of the day & night and I can't tell you how many have darted out in front of my car on a skateboard whom I have almost hit. As far as maintenence - only had to call twice - once over a serious problem with water in my floor that it took them THREE days to respond to, and another to a power problem which they responded to within an hour. Hmm...what else...oh yes, my sister-in-law lived in the building next to me. Her lease was to be up at the end of May - she turned her notice in with her rent in the drop box in March. They now claim that they never received it, so she is ending up paying rent until July 5th - that's about an extra $900 thanks to the office staff's negligence. Words of advice, should you decide to move to Post Ridge - you have to put in a 60-day notice of vacation before you leave - even if your lease is going to be up, otherwise, you get stuck paying extra money. As far as the future of Post Ridge goes - the new manager really does seem like she is going to fix alot of them problems around the complex and make it a better place to live, but after the mess she walked into, it will probably take a while to clean up. However, just based on the type of people who live there, I still don't recommend Post Ridge. Noisy kids with irresponsible parents, vehicles with tinted windows and bass systems riding through the parking lot at all hours of the night, outrageous rent....just not my kind of place. If you like peace and quiet - DO NOT MOVE HERE.
