Okay so far

I moved in about 2 weeks ago. So far, I like it. I haven't had any problems with noise or getting sleep at night, even though I live directly above one of the lakes where the ducks are rumored to quack all night. The only time I hear them is during the day and occasionally in the morning. Otherwise, it's not a problem. I haven't witnessed any dead ducks yet, but I can see how it would happen, since the lakes are so close to the driveway in some cases. I live rather close to the fitness center, and I can, unfortunately, hear people running on the treadmill. It isn't terribly loud (just a light thump), and it normally stops before I need to go to sleep, so it's not a huge issue for me. I've never felt unsafe here. I get home after dark sometimes, and it's always very quiet when I come in. I've always found a parking spot close to my apartment, although it does seem that the lots get pretty full. My neighbors are quiet and seem friendly, so far. I've never had a problem with loud music or loud neighbors. Not trying to dispute what others have said on here, but it's never been an issue for me. When you move into any apartment complex, you take the chance of having loud neighbors. The apartment was clean when I moved in, and I've had no problem with bugs. I did have to request that maintenance fix the AC unit, as it was coming unscrewed from the wall. They fixed it within 24 hours. The office staff are friendly and helpful. I had a package that arrived before I moved in, and they kindly signed for it and held it for me until I got here, and they called to let me know they received it. The walk-in closet is very nice to have, the bedroom is big enough for me, and the landscaping/area is really beautiful. I can't wait until it gets warmer, so I can enjoy my patio.

The complaint I suppose I have is that the apartment doesn't seem very energy efficient. It tends to heat up quickly and get cold quickly, so I'm looking into getting insulated curtains, especially for those glass patio doors. I wish I had a digital AC/heat unit so I could see exactly where I set the thermostat, instead of having to guesstimate what temp I have it on, because during the winter, the electric bill can get pretty steep. Before I moved in, they told me that my electric bill would run about $40/month, and it turns out that it's almost twice that amount, even though I generally keep all the lights turned out if I'm not in the room, and I turn my heat off when I'm not at home. I expect that it'll go down, once it starts getting warmer, but opening that electric bill was pretty painful.

That said, I'm glad I moved here. I suppose I'll update this in a few months, after I've been here longer, but it's good so far. I would recommend it. I hope this review helps with people's decisions. When I was looking for a place to live, I frequently looked on this website, and even apartments that I knew for a fact were good complexes were getting terrible ratings for odd reasons, so, as with anything on the internet, take what you read with a grain of salt. Ask tenants how they like living in a place, before you read websites like these and decide to live with your parents for the rest of your life, because there are no good complexes, according to the internet. ;)
