We've lived here for about three years. In our first month here, a neighbor knocked on our door, not to introduce herself, but to inform us that her car had been stolen and that we should be careful. She said it was the third card stolen from the complex recently. Over the course of the following years, other neighbors had their car's or apartments broken into. It wasn't uncommon for the apartment management to post fliers around the apartment complex warning residents to careful that X number of cars had been broken into. Well this week it was our turn. Our car was among five others whose windows were broken and stereos were stolen. The thief(s) move from one car to next in the parking lot until they finally broke the window of a car with an alarm system. When I called to file the police report, the officer taking my information laughed a little and said, "Again'" when I gave her my address. Doesn't that just say it all! Of course, we informed the apartment management about the crime. They said that there had been car break in's almost every week recently and that they were considering putting in an electronic entry gate. Well the electronic gate will be too late for us. We're breaking our lease and moving to a neighborhood where our property and our persons will be more safe.
