The actual apartments and layouts are nice.
The grounds are pretty well maintened.
There is just enough parking, but that doesn't guarantee you will get a spot in front of your apartment. On the website, they promise reserved parking, that's not the case. OFten times people will tell their guests to park in front of your apartment building to free up their own spots, meaning you are forced to walk home in poorly lit parking lots.
This complex has a problem keeping water on. Many many times has the water been shut off due to "leaks". Recently, a staff member was there and then left while we were still having this problem. It took three and a half hours of our water being off for them to locate a plumber, who was then 90 minutes away. We went the whole night without water (5 p.m. until the next morning).
The staff used to be okay, they go through many changes. When I moved in the manager was great. The current manager will be very condescending and insult your intelligence. It used to be okay with the staff because you could just avoid them. But with all of the problems in the past six months, its impossible to avoid them and after talking with them, you walk away dumber than when you started talking.
If incompetent managers, fires, lack of parking, and peeping toms don't scare you, this is the place for you.

Do you still live there now as of May 25, 2007? My husband ----- and I are thinking of moving there in unit 3404 in the back of the complex.
We just heard about the building burning down...and the office manager ------ today was very evasive on the phone when I asked her specifically what caused the building to burn down last November 2006 in Waterford Place Apartments. She said the fire department never determined the cause of the fire..This is crazy because the fire marshall always wants
to determine the cause of a fire.
The manager ------ said the fire started in the attic of the apt. and destroyed all 4 apts in the same building, and the building is being rebuilt now.
The manager also told me today that the person who saw the fire did not even call 911, but instead called the office. What type of people live there that dont understand to dial 911 when you see smoke, fire or flames?
very disturbing...we have not signed any lease yet to move in, and now we are not sure it is safe to move in.
We were also told by a friend who tried to install a ceiling fan in one of the apts. that the wiring was "funky." We are still questioning this person and will followup this post for everyone's benefit
I didnt like her attitude when I pressed her on the phone questioning
her about the fire and safety in this complex.

Ha! You will not get an answer! I lived there when the fire happened. I was in my apartment, on the other side of the complex, and had NO CLUE what was going on, except when I contacted the office b/c my water was OFF (again). I thought, eventually, a memo would be sent to all the residents explaining the cause of the fire, what they were planning to do with what was left of the building, what we should know about our own places, etc. Did that happen? OF COURSE NOT! To this day I have not heard even a peep of what happened. It's like it never happened. What a shame!

You will definitely never get a straight answer from the office staff. Hope you didn't make a mistake and move in. Ask them about the murder that happened in 2004 or 2005! And as far as the water issue, that was a nightmare. They turned off the water a bunch of times without telling anyone, and there was no office staff to help. Good luck!
