I've noticed most of the other reviews about Fairway Meadows are very extreme, either positively or negatively. The truth lis somewhere in between. I am a current resident at Fairway Meadows and have lived there for a considerable amount of time.
Let's start with the positives. The floorplan is REALLY nice. I love the loft style master bedroom. The utility closet is so large one might think it an extra room. All ground level entrances mean you never have to walk upstairs to get to your door with an armload of shopping bags, and parking is so close that your vehicle is a mere 10 feet or closer to your front door. Parking is generally no problem as everyone parks in front of their own apartment. At least at my building there is more than enough parking.
I have read many reviews that complained of roaches. I can honestly say that I have never seen a roach and I am admittedly a slob. I have, however, heard residents in other buildings complain of insects. Exterminators DO come and spray with regularity even if the intervals are less than ideal.
As for the negatives, the model IS much nicer than the units that are rented. That is to be expected, though. Anyone who thinks that their apartment will be as nice as the model hasn't thought it through. Nobody ever lives in the model so there is no wear and tear. When I moved in, the carpet did have a few stains and there were a few things I needed maintainance to correct. Maintainance was not as speedy as I would have liked, but overall it was acceptable. I did have to have them come back to re-fix one of the items on the list.
Children DO run around unsupervised much more than is acceptable. This is ok if you like kids, but personally I don't. I don't think it is fair for me to be disturbed by someone else's unsupervised children.
I have rarely heard any of my neighbors when they are inside thier own apartment, but for some reason you can hear EVERY WORD if they are outside, even if they are trying to be quiet. Because parking is so close and for whatever reason outside sound is so audible inside, there is a LOT of noise from passing vehicles. There are a lot of "boomin systems" here too. That gets really annoying. When you combine that with the packs of wild children, between 2 and 6 pm the noise can be unbearable.
Water pressure is very weak.... and I mean VERY weak. I usually have to run my dishwasher twice to get dishes clean and there has been a time or two that I was late to work because the shower's water pressure was so weak it was literally barely trickling out. Please understand that while this has happened on very rare occasions usually it is just a weak stream. Either way it is a real negative.
There is no central heat/air, just one window unit in each bedroom. This makes the temperature in the bedrooms over-regulated and the rest of the unit freezing in the winter and VERY stuffy in the summer. My computer is in the living room so if I were writing this review in January, I would be writing it with my jacket on.
The majority of other negative reviews on here complain about the office staff. I would say that is mostly accurate. While Steve is usually at least polite, Tanya is one of the most unpleasant people I have ever had the displeasure to deal with. Both of them, but especially Tanya seem to forget that the tenant is the customer and therefore should be treated with respect, if not someone who they should go out of their way to please. My solution to this has been to try very hard NOT to have to have any contact with the office at all if I can help it. EVERY single time I HAVE had to speak to Tanya, I have left feeling offended, insulted and downright angry. Her attitude toward tenants is indifferent on her best days and an antagonistic demeanor is the norm. She was nice enough until I signed the lease, then her true colors came out. On one occasion she even talked to me in a manner that had she been a man would absolutely have let to a physical confrontation. I have never, EVER dealt with a business that has such poor customer service.

Specially about the office stuff (Steve Nice), Tanya (B@*@*), and if you leave don??t bother to clean hard your place because (Tanya) will never give your deposit back.
Just wonder why are keeping her working there?

Is she the owner of the property? Are does she just run it?
What does the units you live in look like that makes them different than the model? Do they not paint and have the carpets cleaned when people move?
