We have lived at Laurelwood for almost a year now and we love it. The price we got for our apartment can't be beat, and the apartment itself is in good shape. The staff has been more than helpful when we needed anything, and they even put out a newsletter telling us about summer plans, like pool hours and an apartment wide yard sale.
The neighbors in our building, however, are terrible. They are loud and have a complete disregard for anyone else that lives in our building. They constantly leave trash on our stairs, slam doors, stand outside their door and yell on the phone, have loud music on well into the night, and one of them even has a dog which aparently is ok, even though we were told that we can't have pets of any kind... even visiting ones. It's like living in a frat house. If only we could get rid of the neighbors, it would be a fantastic place to live. I guess that's what you have to expect living in any apartment, though.
