It looks pretty from a distance people but don't be fooled and roped in. They try to hook you with the "amentities" of this place but they are a fraud. Let's start from the front and move back. It's supposed to be a "gated community" with keycard access but anybody can walk into the complex in the huge gap in the gate between the pool and the office. The vehicle gate only works half the time and takes FOREVER to open when it's actually working. Moving into the office/clubhouse...you have a media room where you can watch movies but I have a bigger TV in my apartment and the alleged surround sound is crap. There is a tanning bed for the residents use but the hours are so ridiculous that it's closed before anybody, who has a job, can use it. There is a business center but the equipment in there is cheap and isn't maintained so it never works. There is a gym but it's tiny and there is no ventillation so it smells like body odor all the time and if you actually try to get a good workout you'll sufficate because it's much too stuffy. The pool is pretty decent but it's small for the size of the complex so it's extremely overcrowded during peak times. The hot tub tends to break a lot so it's more of a "cold tub" and there is a massive fire ant problem around it so you may leave with several ant bites. The fire ants have been there for about a month, by the way, and the staff has yet to do anything about it and I've reported it twice. The parking situation is ridiculous because the lots are simply TOO SMALL. There is a laundry facility on site here but it's quarter operated and there is no change machine inside the the complex ANYWHERE so if you don't have your own large collection of quarters then you have to drive to a store to get change. The charge to wash clothes is $1.25 and another $1.25 to dry so you pay $2.50 per load to wash clothes at a complex that you are already paying a ridiculous rent at. So make sure you have your own washer and dryer before you come here. The tennis court is decent but it takes about 20 minutes for the lights to come on. There is a paved walking trail but it goes into a dark, unlit wooded area that would be perfect for a pervert to hide in waiting for a lone female victim to rape. There is a carwash but it's really nothing for than just a hose and there is only one for hundreds of residents. There is no soap function for the hose and there are no car brushes...it's just a big garden hose. The car wash only works about half the time and is shut down during the winter. I understand their reasoning behind doing that but there were several warm days during and at the end of the winter season that the car wash could've been open but the staff didn't bother to take the time to open it so it's residents could actually use that "ammentity" ,that we are paying our ridiculous rent for, to wash our cars. I started of in this complex in a 2 bedroom delux apartment in March of 2007 and upgraded to a 3 bedroom in November 2007 and they charged me a $300 transfer fee to move into a MORE EXPENSIVE apartment. When I asked them what that was for they told me it was basically to cover the expenses to prepare the apartment that I was moving into. Then they turned right around and charged me MORE for clean up of the apartment I had moved out of. So in other words...I payed $300 to clean up somebody else's mess in the apartment I was moving into but I wasn't covered for the clean up for the mess I made. What's worse is that it stands to reason that if they still charged me for the clean up in my old apartment then they probably charged the former residents for clean up of the apartment I was moving into also. So they charged me a transfer fee to clean up an apartment where the clean up had already been paid for by the previous resident. Sound like deception and double charging to you' I'm willing to bet that if somebody transfered into my old 2 bedroom apartment they probably charged them a transfer fee to "clean up that apartment" even though I had already paid to have it cleaned.
This complex is very poorly maintained and going downhill fast. You find out quickly that the construction is shotty at best and obviously rushed. If your neighbor upstairs has a single small child that likes to play sometimes it sounds like a herd of cattle are tap dancing on your ceiling. The water heater is no bigger in the 3 bedroom than it is in the 2 bedroom and it doesn't take a genious to figure out that doesn't make sense. So don't try to get you and your kids taking a shower at the same time to get ready for church unless you can all do it in about 5 minutes.
Also...SIGN A SHORT TERM LEASE. I'm breaking my lease 2 months early to get away from this ridiculous place and buy a house and it's going to cost me over $1800 to do it. Not to mention the fact that you have to have a 60 day notice.
The office staff is snooty and put on a good front until they rope you in but once you are on a lease you become one of their underlings. There is a patio/grill and "party" area by the pool. You can use the grill during business hours only but if you want to use it other than that you have to give them a $300 deposit and a $25 fee. Ammentities' Aren't those the things that are supposed to justify a massive and ridiuclous amount of rent' How is that supposed to work if you charge extra, on top of the rent, for the "ammentities"'
Save your money and buy a house rather than throw your money away here.
