Luxury'' Hah!!!

Stone ridge farms are a so called "luxury" apartment community. I don't know where they got this from. The overall community is nice and well kept and there are some nice amenities. If you don't mind paying extra; you can have black and stainless steel appliances, the stoves are glass top, sinks are pretty deep, garden tub, trash pick up, balcony (with storage) or sun room, bar top, hot tub, tanning, rentable enclosed grilling room, and tennis court, just to name a few. The location is great. Walking distance to restaurants and Movie Theater, but not close enough to deal with sound associated with these areas. Gated community with a tailgate bar (they will tell you this is for traffic control not security; which is how it should be put) sounds good so far; well that's what I thought.
The staff in the office comes off a tad bit "snobby". There have been many times where I have come up too the office and had to wait for the staff to finish their conversations with what appeared to be friends and/or had to interrupt after waiting 30 mins. No issues with the maintanece staff. They are friendly and eventually get the job done. As much money as people are paying for rent; why is the entertainment budget a joke' Or at least what they're spending it on. A bingo night was held not too long ago and the bingo set (balls, cards etc...) was that of the $5.00 variety. Something your children might play with. What a joke. I'm not looking for something that cost $100's of dollars, but common we couldn't spend a little more; so that I don't have to use my popcorn because you ran out of little tab markers and straining my eyes while you right numbers on a sheet of paper.
Now the actual apartments are the major problem. I am just going to name off some problems first: both bathroom sinks do not drain properly (drain plug installed incorrectly), water in master bath sink comes out at angle (about 45 degrees), carpet to tile edge will stab your feet (carpet nails), flooring beneath carpet (ground level) is not even in several places (big bumps and dips are felt), all bedroom window seals mold because of cheap insulation (I have spoke with many of my neighbors who have the same problem), front door knob keeps coming off (fixed 3 times before done correctly), upon moving in painters tape was still on every sprinkler, there were little pieces of broken glass in the kitchen, disgusting broiler pan in bottom of stove (should have been replaced), carpet has a 12in X 9in "L: shaped rip in the carpet right in front of the master bedroom (very noticeable). We were told that we could move to a different apartment; that is 2 days before we were moving. By this time all utilities had been transferred as well as mailing address. This apartment was vacant 3 months before we moved in. This should have been taken care of well in advance. Most of these are problems I just deal with; as I would rather not deal with the "snobs" or have tried to no avail. In a "luxury" apartment; these would not exist.
I used to live at the back of this property and never had any problems with the surrounding area. As soon as moved to the front of the property (next to the front office); my car has been broken into 3 times. I have parked 20ft from the entrance to the building, robbed; directly under street light, robbed. Neighbors have had their car windows busted out. Again, we never had this problem when we lived in the less lighted and traveled back of the property. Weird!'' There are quite a few residents who continue to walk their dogs without a leash. Not only is this against the rules, but against city law as well if I'm not mistaken. Reminders have been sent out about the subject, but have not been heeded. This usually would not be a problem; except when you're walking your dog/s and the dog/s not on a leash run up too yours causing them to get nervous and go crazy. There is a dog poop problem around certain buildings, but this is no fault of the property. They do a pretty good job of having someone pick it up. Although many times the "poop" stations have no bags and quite often are filled to the brim.
Overall for the price paid and the level of service given; I am moving out as soon as my lease ends this year. If you don't mind these things and I believe the price has gone down (we are in a tough economical time people) than this is a nice property to be on. Just make sure you put in all your work orders before you move in and be sure to check everything, even the water when you do you're walk through.
