I currently live at Country Place and have for almost 2 years. The maintenance is horrible and yes they do not keep the grounds up very well. The pool last year stayed very dirty and green with film on water all year and slime on bottom. There is trash all over the complex and yes they took away cable and raised rent. This is horrible. The upside is they never really jack with you, heck you can't get them to do anything!! I have asked for screens for my windows for almost 7 months now and asked for new tile in my bathroom floor so I would be unable to see the roof of the ones below me.... not happening.
