It's Not BAD.

I've lived here since early 2006. I've never had a major problem ...you get what you pay for. I've never seen the cops called here or felt unsafe, the police department is a 2 minute walk away.
Parking sucks depending on your schedule. If you get home after 8 PM, you'll probably have to park a little ways away from your home. Get home after midnight, and you'll have to park a couple of buildings away. Most of the time, it's not that much of an issue.
The stairs are broken on one side of our building and sway to and fro as you walk up/down them. When we moved in, we were told a contractor was coming out soon too look at them. That was 8 months ago.
Having maintenance come out has never been a problem, they've either come out the same day as our request, or the next day. The electric outlets in the bathrooms can't handle a hair dryer or a flat iron.
Electricity is on the high side, almost 400 dollars a month for under 1000 square feet.
The grounds aren't horrible, however, no one seems to pick up after their dog, so watch out.
No one watches their kids around here, so be prepared for loud kids screaming outside of your apartment at all hours of the day/night. I've never had a problem with any of my neighbors, they all seem like nice people. There seems to be an abundance of Africans, -------, and trailer trash in some areas. Scary teenagers often like to play football or wander around in the parking lot and give you dirty looks as you actually try to park.
We had new paint and new carpet when we moved in, the carpet still looks nice. The paint has been coated on a little thick over the years, so things tend to stick. They must have left the bathroom doors closed when they painted, because it's chipped off along the inside edge. The floorplan kind of sucks, the fridge is in a tight spot.
The leasing staff is nothing spectacular. They don't live on property either ...I wonder why. Good luck getting any packages that were delivered to the office, they never know where they are. One of the agents is deaf and a loudmouth. They never remember your name or apartment number.
It sounds like it sucks I know, but for just over 600 dollars a month for 1000 sqaure feet - what do you expect' I've never had a horrible experience here, and for the money it's alright. If you have an extra 200 dollars a month to spare - find something else. If you don't, this is an okay place to live until you can come up with some extra cash.
