A few complaints, but overall satisfied
From: -Anonymous-Date posted: 6/27/2008
Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2008
This is my first apartment in the metroplex, and will probably be my last as I am planning to move into a house in a few years. I have seen the office staff go through many changes since I've been there, but I think overall the office is finally beginning to improve. I do think some of the things communicated with the residents is from the management company and not the office staff, but The people in the office are always friendly when I go by (I make an effort to hand deliver my rent in order to be recognized.) I met a new member of the office staff not long ago when she was walking the grounds; she was very sweet, but I don't remember her name.
Last spring I had a leak in my roof, which I did have to bring to their attention multiple times, however they did show the same day as I made my third notice. It took a few days to get completed, however I would much rather worry about maintenence being in my apartment all day than my roof eventually caving in.
As far as noise goes, my biggest complaint would be my next door neighbors and their kids. They have a big family so there are constantly people in and out, as well as birthday parties in the "courtyard" (complete with a pinata mess when it's all said and done) that is between my building and two others. I've had to move my patio furniture to my back porch because they were constantly "borrowing" them for their little get-togethers. My upstairs neighbor is constantly kicking her boyfriend out then making up a few nights later, but it's more or less provided for entertainment at this point - outside of the fighting she is quiet and we occassionally stop and talk. The other lady upstairs has an adorable daughter and they are very quiet. And I think they kicked out the lady across the courtyard from me who had about 5 dogs living with her (2 were big and left on the patio at all hours of the night, which disturbed my terriers.) There was one incident in which a few drunk people decided to park outside my building and bash beer bottles, then take off, but overall I have no safety concerns. The police patrol through occassionally, and when I moved in I was told there were a few professional policemen who lived there.
It takes a while for them to open the pool (a few weeks past Memorial Day, like you'd expect) and the one by my building is not open at all, I asked about this and was told they were waiting on signs and furniture, but the one by me (on the gardens side) would not be opening at all. I wish there were carports in front of my apartment, but I usually have a place right in front (since they began construction, the workers have been using part of the parking area for storage so it's become crowded on my half of the lot. Also, these construction workers are VERY noisy at 7am when they arrive but I guess I should be up by then anyways.)
Overall I am moderately satisfied with the complex, and I plan to stay for maybe another year after this lease is up before I move to a house. I think they are making a concious effort to improve the maintenence of buildings and quality of everything as a whole - I just hope it's not too late! BuLYzGcKAVo8MQPlcXJq
