We have had some cold weather lately. I do believe we pay a sufficient amount of rent not to have to put weather stripping around our doors and windows. I just spent most of the day Sunday and over $75.00 weather stripping my apartment. This is ridiculous. You would not believe the cold air that just flows in here. It come from under the door and through the door jam. Every window leaks virtually everywhere -- where the lower window supposedly meets the upper window -- where the lower window supposedly meets the window sill and from the facing around the window. My apartment is an ice castle when it gets cold. I have insulated completely one bedroom window and this one room is actually warm so I know what is causing the cold in the rest of the apartment. Management knows about this and just does not care. I just do not see this place as above average but maybe I am missing something.

I wish they would take the money they spend on flowers, and watering those flowers, and dumb pool furniture, and all the money it takes to let a broken sprinkler head be a fountain for two weeks before they fix it and put some weather stripping up or even some real windows from the last twenty years -- not these leaky pieces of crap -- and HVAC units that are not over 25 years old.

But they spend money to make it look attractive to trap you in here and then you ARE trapped and have to pay to relocate. LIPSTICK ON A PIG. So most people just put up with it.

Why doesn't management address these issues instead of getting other people to post -- or make that weak little post --- 'we are here to help you.' What a bunch of crap.

They are here to help the owners and do as little as possible to help you.

OH, AND HOW ABOUT USING THE RENT INCREASES TO UPGRADE THE HVAC UNITS AND PUT IN ENERGY EFFICIENT WINDOWS AND DOORS'''''''

NOW THAT WOULD BE ADRESSING THE PROBLEM INSTEAD OF HIDING BEHIND SOME PEOPLE THEY HAVE PUT UP TO POSTING.

Dear Miss Reading: Everyone knows who you are!!! The question is why such a strong alignment with management? Could it be that there is a VOID in your life? I intend to move. Thank you very much, HOWEVER, I think weather stripping doors and windows or better yet, replacing them with energy efficient products is appropriate. We all know you will NEVER move. Moving is expensive and a hassle but I intend to do just that. JUST MOVE? Sounds so easy ... but it is much easier to suggest after a school day than it is for someone that works a much more demanding job.

A "void" in my life? I don't know quite what you mean by that. But as to "aligning myself with mgmt," I didn't realize one had to take sides. I said what I did because I've been treated fairly by management... If there ever comes a time when I'm not treated fairly or my concerns aren't addressed, I will move. I moved here from my last apt for that very reason even though, as you point out, it is expensive to move. But should that time come, I can guarantee that I won't post my complaints anonymously nor will I personally and pretty viciously attack someone for daring to disagree with me as you have just done to me. Nonetheless, I do sincerely hope you'll find some peace and contentment wherever you end up.

"anonymous"-- You have an advantage here.. anybody who posts under a user name can only make one comment.. the newest comment overwrites the older one. So I'll just do what you're doing and post "anonymously" while still being clear about who I am. Do I speak for management? Of course not. If you know who I am, as you seem to, then you know I don't work for management. Nor did I get paid for my comments, or asked to post anything etc. etc or any of the other accusations you've been throwing around so casually. I did, however, mention your complaint about having to pay for weatherstripping to the office because it didn't seem very fair that you would have to spend that much money out of your own pocket. Just so everyone knows -- it would appear that you never bothered to talk to the office-- or maybe you behaved as rudely to them as you have here to me--because I was told that they would have given it to you if you'd just asked. But frankly, after your last post attacking me personally, denigrating my job, and the fact that you keep hiding behind "anonymous", I think you're just an unhappy person who enjoys complaining and gets off on attacking other people. I guess posting here lets you feel, What? Powerful or something? Oh.. and by the way.. your fear that the office would persecute you or something if they knew who you were? I asked them about this website when I asked about the weatherstripping because at that time I wanted to know who you were... Just so you know -- they don't bother to even read this website so when you post here you're just whistling into the wind. My final response to you is that it's time for you to act like an adult and stop complaining. If you're that miserable here, then do something about it. If that doesn't mean moving, then why don't you elevate your concerns directly to the manager's boss or even higher? Go all the way to the guy who owns the property. You should be able to find that out online by simply looking at county property records. In the meantime, I truly hope I NEVER find out who YOU are because, while I do pity you, I don't want to know that I know someone like you
