For those that don't know. Garden Oaks was recently bought by the same person that owns the Talisker. Since buying the apartment, the management at Talisker now operates both apartment complexes.

Since being bought, I have started seeing all of the same issues as the people who have reviewed the Talisker.

I lived in Garden Oaks since July 2003 and it was very nice. The apartment was cheap for its size and I never had any problems with my neighbors. I recently moved out do mostly to a new neighbor moving in who smokes inside all the time and the smell was killing my allergies.

While they don't give out parking stickers for non-vistor parking, now, I've still seen cars towed from the complex, so I'm not sure what that's all about.

The A/C units are old, and the windows are older... what you save in rent you WILL pay in electricity to keep the place cooler in the summer. When asked, management said I shouldn't keep the A/C set below 80.

The fireplace was nice, but it'd only barely warm the living room, so it was mostly for decoration.

The refrigerator didn't have an ice maker, so get used to using ice trays.
