Pros & Cons

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2007
Beautiful grounds, decent amenities, horrible parking and management.
They definately take care of the landscaping around here, especially in the spring and summer. Those times of the year are great if you have a balcony overlooking Addison East. But beware: no matter where your apartment faces, there's alot of noise. A LOT. Cars driving by all day and night long, parking garage echos (not to mention if your lucky enough to have a car alarm go off in the parking garage your next to), crowds leaving the bar or events at 2 in the morning, or the airport that's 200 yards away.
The location is great, especially when it comes time for Kaboom Town, Taste of Addison, and Oktoberfest, but parking is horrible.
Every parking garage has alloted reserved spaces for retail parking. Every month since I've been here, resident spaces have disappeared to be replaced with "Reserved" signs. They have no problem towing you (even on Sundays) and don't plan on having friends over for more than 2 hours without them getting stickers and tickets on their vehicle. And to top it all off, we received a notice on our doors last month that read:
"Tired of scraping ice off your windows and parking on the top floor' BUY a reserved parking space!" Really' Buy one' Because my lease said I get 2 with the apartment. On top of this, I cannot count how many times the gates have malfunctioned, leaving everyone who parks on the 2nd level or higher stranded. When I lived in building 8 (the one with the ONLY bar), we had a series of break-ins, culminated with a neighbors car being stolen! Which also reminds me that we've had 2 stabbings and a handful of muggings in the parks at night since I've been here. But outside of this, Addison PD gets here quick! Within 15-30 seconds, no joke.
The repair department is very quick and does a great job, but I've had to call them way too many times. From repainting cracked walls, replacing cracked tiles, to an air conditioner leak that cost me an additional $50/month for about 3 months. For the price you pay for rent, you'd expect the walls here to be lined in diamond dust.
The rent here is rather rediculous (about $1.50/sq. ft.) and, in the long run, definately isn't worth it. Management doesn't give a care about you until you screw something up. Then they seem to notice you real quick. If your lease runs out, plan on moving. They'll jack your current apartment up about $80-$100, and if you try to transfer apartments, you have to pay an additional deposit and security fee, as well as lose out on any specials going on.
Conclusion, stay away. There's a reason why all the businesses in Addison Circle are closing down shop and leaving. Prices are rediculous, management and parking sucks, and they really don't care about long term tenants.
