Expensive place with many hidden costs

Average cost for a 2 bedroom is $1500. For that you get a great location and nice parks. But, $1500 is only the beginning.

Parking. This complex does not have enough covered parking. If you get home past 8pm, you will be parking on the 4th or 5th floor which is roof parking. You will be completely exposed to the weather. Further if you live in an adjacent apartment this means you will carry your groceries down 4 flights of stairs, walk across the street and then go up to your floor. If you live on the 4th floor and happen to encounter a broken elevator, this amounts to 8 flights of stairs. Post acknowledged the problem and found a way to capitalize on it. For $50 per month they will give you an assigned parking spot. This guarantees you covered parking on the floor of your choice. Post hit a low point this winter. During an ice storm there were many upset residents that got stuck on the roof and found there car covered with ice. The next morning Post put a flyer on everyones door telling them they could avoid the ice hastle and rent a garage for $100. So, if you have a roomate, additional parking cost is $100 for assigned spaces and $200 for individual garages.

Health Club. As with most aparment complexes in the DFW area, Addison Circle has an on site health club. However, this club will charge you $50 per month to use there facilitites. Cost per 2 person apartment $100.

Appliances and Interior Amenities. As has been mentioned several times in previous reviews, the apartments themselves have received little attention. Apartments are cheaply built and cannot be considered upscale. Post acknowledged the problem and found a way to capitalize on it. When viewing an aparment which are being asked to pay top dollar, you will be told that you can upgrade your appliances to meet the standards of other area apartment complexes. The cost $35 per month. In addition, you can decorator walls added to your rent. The cost $35. Total monthly cost $70.
Storage. Unlike every other apartment I have ever lived in, Post does not provide storage for in the apartments. However, they have a solution. For $50 or more, they will give you access to there storage garage.

So now the real cost of living in the Post Addison Circle is: $1500 rent $100 parking fee $100 health club $70 apartment upgrade fee 50 Storage. Total Monthly cost: $1,820. These add on fees are necessary to upgrade to typical amenities in other area apartments.

So, what do you get for $1,820' Pools: Some are actually very nice. However, they are not child friendly on weekends. Once the party gets going, take your kids home. There is also a resident facination with Urine. In the four years I lived there I have seen and adult pull down a childs short and direct him to urinate in the pool from the side, a drunk girl squat on the side of the pool and urinate in front of everyone, and multiple times I have witness people walk into the pool up to there waiste and annonce to everyone that they were urinating. Additionally, if you swim, you better like bathing with animals. There are always pets in the pool. On several occassions there have been more dogs in the pool then people.

Management: Every story you have heard about poor management is true. You cannot really appreciate how bad they are till you move and get to work with professionals.

Construction: Addison Circle is one big construction zone. There has been construction going on for the entire I have lived here. So, don t open your windows, the dust is amazing.

Everything that this person is saying is absolutely true. I've lived in Addison Circle for several years and the upgrade fees are ridiculous. The location is great and there are a lot of great groups to hang out with. I agree with what they say but don't see the problem regarding the parties at the pool. Apartment complexes like Post should be about Adults. I wouldn't live at Post if I had kids. But other than that, what they say is very true. I've lived in several buildings and have had the same experiences in them as well.

I have to laugh at this review....and its response. If conditions are SO bad, why did the reviewer "live here for four years" and why did the person who responded "live in several different buildings." It seems to me that if things were so bad, you would have used the 30-day guarantee that Post offers all of its residents. If you don't like it, you can leave. And of all the 'fees' you mentioned, I was told about all of them when I received my initial tour for my two bedroom, which by the way, cost $1175---as did the three others that I was shown. That doesn't exactly make any of them hidden, does it?

The nickel and diming is a fact. They don't hide it, but they're clearly out to stick it.
