Weigh The Good & The Bad
From: -Anonymous-Date posted: 1/16/2008
Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007
We rented here just this last year. These are the good points and bad points. Weigh the difference for yourself:
Good points Great location, trendy area, cool apartment layouts to choose from and certain places in walking distance. If you re really lucky like we were, we actually had a really quite unit/spot over looking one of the little park areas.
Bad points Parking is a nightmare, especially during events in the park. It s almost impossible to actually get home since they block off so many streets leading into the circle/apartments.
Safety is a serious issue since people are constantly propping the gates open for friends (especially during the summer because of the pools). Not to mention numerous cars were broken into (yes, in the gate controlled parking garage). There's been broken glass left for over a week in the hallways, mainly from beer bottles. The elevator was constantly breaking down (that really sucks if you re on the 4th floor like we were). It actually dropped from half way to the 3rd floor back down to the 1st floor while I was in it...alone. That was pretty scary! Not to mention the ear piercing can render dogs unconscious fire alarm was constantly going off at all hours of the night. We learned mainly because it was defective.
Pricing is of course expensive mainly because of location. I would be a little more understanding if the unit had great upgrades (i.e. granite counters, stainless steel appliances and nice cupboards), but the fridge was crap along with the dishwasher, of which ours leaked water. Even the carpet was cheap-o. Every time we vacuumed, we would get huge hair balls made entirely of carpet fiber. When we moved out, they stuck us with a $950 move out fee because they wanted to replace the ENTIRE carpet. That was fun...It s always great to be swindled...
Honestly, I could go on and on. All I'm recommending is that you think twice about renting here(especially if you're a single female). Sure the apartments look cool and it's a young/trendy/partiers heaven, but if you're more concerned about safty, price, parking, etc...then please take heed and consider yourself warned.
