I put a 500$ deposit down. waited to hear from my leasing agent - she returned my calls 2 weeks later reporting that the apartment was no longer available and that i will receive 0$ back. BEWARE.

Did you contact corporate? Security deposits must be returned within 30 days according to Texas State statutes.
